Just spoken to my gas engineer to arrange a boiler service and the fitting of the new thermostat. I had mentioned the TR4 but he suggested a Neomitis unit, a brand I had never heard of before. No doubt he knows 500% more than me but just checking it's OK .. i want to be able to programme 7...

    Honeywell T4R vs CM927

Funnily enough I too have a CM927 programmer, which works, but of course I can no longer change any settings, as the display is almost blank, even with new batteries. I've been looking online and the T4R seemed the best choice for my needs, but reading some comments here I'm wondering .. is...

    How good is 'Satinwood' paint

I've always been an undercoat 'n gloss type of guy, but I suppose times move on. I have some new glazed doors to paint, as well as skirting boards, architraves etc, so was thinking about water-based undercoat and gloss (white) I was in Wlko and see this plan of action, using their own brand...

    New WHB taps

For some reason both WHB taps have quite small flow rate .. so maybe they are in need of replacement. We've been putting this off for a few weeks, but as our plumber is coming next week to service our boiler and fire, may as well get the taps replaced too. Shown below is the current 'basic'...

Firstly, many thanks for your reply. I wasn't pushing it in hard enough, so did it again and all seemed fine ... water rushing into the system. I let the pressure get to 1.5. I am tiling a splashback to the kitchen. the window wall has two corners (surprise surprise) .. one that is very visible when you walk in to the room and the other, not so much .. anyway the food processor is in the corner. Flashband : Do I need primer ?

A neighbour has just pointed out to me that there is a section of felt loose at the side of our dormer window roof. It looks as if the felt has broken along the corner (roof to the fascia board) with one section just hanging (1m in length) We have a bungalow and with the layout, it's an easy...

Primer, undercoat and gloss .. For 8 new doors

We have just had 8 doors fitted, so now it's time for me to paint them :( The joiner explained that I should prime the edges, then undercoat and gloss the whole door. I have always used oil-based paints, but with doors, the drying time may be too long and awkward too, so he recommended...
