Worcester bosch ongoing fault... Getting worse!

Hello all, Thank you for your replies. It's nice to know it's the set up rather than anything mechanical! I've contacted my neighbours son who's gas safe to come have a look, Tibbot, unfortunately there are many many "Tradesmen" who do exactly that! No harm in being a little wise to the...

Worcester bosch ongoing fault... Getting worse!

Hi All, Please help me... I'm stressed!!! We have a Worcester Bosch Greenstar 37CDi Combi which for the last 8 months or so has been ok. In the last 6 weeks or so, the boiler has been making a really load noise. It's a bit like a bum note on a Trombone would sound and lasts 3-4 seconds. It...

'Mains Pressure' Cylinder (without a discharge pipe?)

I sat the Bpec Unvented course a few months back an we were also told it was illegal unless competant through a governing body... Bpec for example. And Building control must be informed 30 days prior to install, again, by law! If the UHWC is near the bathroom you can discharge through a dry...

    Plumbing course

Evening all, I completed a plumbing course at Met UK just before christmas. I took out a Career Development Loan from barclays which gave me 8K with no repayments for 13 months and only 9.5k toal repayable. I was also in a crappy job and had been for several years. I'm 27 and now working...

    The elusive waste pipe!!! Hmmmm......

I'm going slightly mad.... and I'm not singing a song by queen! Has anyone got a clue where I can get one of these? It was attached to the bath waste off a "King" spa bath before the trap but I've not been able to find "King" or the waste anywhere! If you've seen one or know of a...

    pushfit valves

Hi Dotto, As the others have said you'd be better of with soldered or compression, however, if you're worried about the expense or as unsure with using compression, B&Q are mistaken and push fit can be dismantled and reused. Certainly the top three brands. If you want to upload a photo of the...

    WC in Ensuite

As long as the design meets the current requirements you won't need to. The plumber will know these things. Soil can be installed both inside and outside. Really as long as he gets the best possible fall you'll be ok. He'll pipe the hand basin waste into the same soil pipe so that'll help with...

    WC in Ensuite

I can't say i have to be honest. If you had 200mm joists it would just about work but at a push and I cant imagine they're that tall! Sorry!!

    WC in Ensuite

Hi Suzzana, In regards to length, if the soil pipe is 100mm, it can be upto 6m long if you really want! the problem with it running under the floor is space. you need the correct fall to the pipe (Technically 18mm per meter) and the space under your floorboards probably wont allow for that...

    Cold Rads Downstairs

Hello MrBob, Martyc is right that the hot water will rise up to the bedrooms but 4 or 5 rads including 2 downstairs the pump is doing is job or the bottom 2 rads would also be tepid rather than hot. 1)When you bled the rads is the water relitively clear or a dark murky colour? 2)Have you...

    Programmer being confusing!!

Morning Alex. Did you atleast get some CH last night via the manual valve switch? In regards to the Programmer, can you see the full lenght of the cable or is it ducted? Some"Builders" try and extend cabling and join them in a blanked double socket. The colours you're looking at for signals...

Hot water from boiler not reaching pump

I don't blame you for wanting to get warmed up! There will be two tanks in the loft. The big one is your bath/shower water, then the smaller one (F&E) tops the heating up when in sue. that should be an inch or so over the level of the cold feed pipe coming from the bottom. is the valve...

Hot water from boiler not reaching pump

Have you manually checked the 3way? The pump could be fine... If the valves shut the water won't pass the pump and won't heat up! Use the little lever on the valve to open it manually. Did the valve get unwired during the process?

Hot water from boiler not reaching pump

Evening! Most problems can be found with a little more diagnosis... These questions are asked as a double check so don't take offence if they seem simple or obvious. 1. when the flow pipe from the boiler gets hot, does it get hot on just one side of the pump or not at all? There shouldn't...
