    Halogen Bulbs to LEDs (Tranformer)

Cheers, I could replace the whole unit with the above. The actual units are not under boards, the boards are through the middle of the loft and the units are at the side (not under boards). Would replacing all of the units solve the flickering problem though?

    Halogen Bulbs to LEDs (Tranformer)

Here’s the LEDs I bought. https://www.toolstation.com/integral-led-12v-mr16-gu53-lamp/p35057 Cables are under boards will loads of stuff to be moved to get them up, bit of a pita to trace

    Halogen Bulbs to LEDs (Tranformer)

Sorry, been busy for a few days. Here’s what’s inside that white box. It is an old PC PSU, it’s in the loft just stored with other PC bits - nothing to do with the lighting Could well be an old wired house alarm (decommissioned) in the mix also. As above, will rewire with GU10 fittings. Assume...

    Halogen Bulbs to LEDs (Tranformer)

Now I’m more confused. Just fitted an LED transformer to that last bulb and now it doesn’t work at all. Do all of the bulbs in the circuit need to have a transformer fitted?

    Halogen Bulbs to LEDs (Tranformer)

It’s not a faulty bulb, I’ve swapped it over for another one and same happens. There’s 9 bulbs in total, 3 rows of 3. If I put 8 bulbs in and leave the last one as halogen then it’s all fine. As soon as I swap that last one for LED then it starts to flicker. Just tried to swap the last one...

    Halogen Bulbs to LEDs (Tranformer)

I want to change a set of Halogen bulbs in my bathroom to LEDs. I've simply replaced the bulbs but the last one flickers (all of the others are fine). Been told I need an LED transformer. I have these 2 boxes (one black, one white) in the loft where the lighting cable goes into, then out of...

New radiator added to system not heating up

If I took a 15mm feed off the existing rad would that work, or does the whole system need to be changed to 15mm?

New radiator added to system not heating up

It's 8mm, will try closing lockshield. Assume 15mm pipe would work?

New radiator added to system not heating up

Heres the other side of the wall

New radiator added to system not heating up

Here you go, it's hooked up to an existing rad on the other side of the wall. Flow out of the existing rad goes to flow in on the new one (although I don't believe it matters hugely if hooked up backwards)

New radiator added to system not heating up

Added a new radiator to the system but its not heating up. Have bled the radiator, all fine. Pipes are hooked up to the correct flow. No leaks in valves, pipes or radiator. Pressure is fine on the boiler. Hot water & hot rads everywhere else. Valves are fully turned to on position (duh!) Taken...

    Hive hub wiring come out

Connected those back up. Looks like fuse has blown. Need to find a 3a fuse now!!

    Hive hub wiring come out

Yes, power is now off. The wire that’s still connected goes into the boiler. The one that’s one out goes to a fuse box

    Hive hub wiring come out

Accidentally pulled a cable out of my Hive central heating hub. As can be seen bottom right. Does it just go back in with the existing wires, or do they go into separate connectors?

    Extending cables

I do have a crimping tool (somewhere) and some crimps. Thanks for the advice. Yes, the other wire is lighting

    Extending cables

Only thing in the direction it’s going is water. It’s circa 6mm diameter

    Extending cables

Fitted a Velux window over the weekend and there are a couple of cables running directly underneath. Cant be moved out of the way, so need to extend them. I'm fine with extending the electric cable (using a 30A junction box), but what about the earth cable - assume this cant be extended...

    Light wont turn off

thanks, Jackrae that worked. I have some junction boxes to use as opposed to blocks in the ceiling.

    Light wont turn off

Had my ceiling plastered, not changed any wiring. Just fitted new light switch and light unit and light wont switch off. I've tried a separate switch and a separate light unit but still no joy. Some pics below, what am I missing? henry vaughan quotes
