water feed logistics and kitchen layout

ah ok thank you thats useful info. yes wanted to avoid joints where possible! i dont think i can drop down from the ceiling without boxing in as there arent any overhead units on the side with the sink etc. could go across the ceiling and chase it in the brick work behind the dot and dab though ?

water feed logistics and kitchen layout

ha, oh yeah ive confused that i think with the waste pipe diameter i'd need the hot and cold getting over to the RHS, so what are they typically - 22mm and 15mm?

laying new floor on concrete slab (1910?) no DPC

it does feel like it needs venilation - particularly in the corner under the stair... Theres no DPC to take the DPM above... so do i just terminate it 150 above the external level?

laying new floor on concrete slab (1910?) no DPC

thanks for your reply. yes the concrete gets in the way of venting a large portion of it at the rear - hope the plan clarifies... there is one(!) airbrick to the back of the house. It seems very inefficient + looks like its been replaced with a more modern one at some point with tiny holes. I...

laying new floor on concrete slab (1910?) no DPC

heres a quick sketch of what i was proposing. just FYI, the diagonal lines represent the ground under the slab, i presume there is no insulation under there. so - lay 50mm insulation on the slab - build a floating subfloor and then - lay the LVT on the subfloor. does this seem feasible? how...

laying new floor on concrete slab (1910?) no DPC

hi all i have a concrete slab in the rear kitchen which doesnt appear to have any DPM (probably well before they existed) There was evidence of a bitumin lining to the lower 800mm of the exterior wall, but that was in pretty bad shape too and clearly not doing much. The floor is circa...

Yup without wanting to stereotype, I've looked closer at his reviews and seems to have done jobs round the country.... So I'm a bit concerned about the repurcusion of paying nothing. Not sure on the best way to approach it but thinking of offering a low sum of money to cover cleaning the...

yup learning that the hard way. The alarm bells should have rang with the short start on site date. also funny that these sites try to irradiate cowboys but actually end up facilitating them. assuming all his reviews were 'mates'

the thing is, you get someone in to do something you cant do yourself. I cant bring myself to get on a roof, but if id mustered the balls to get up there I certainly couldn't have done a worse job

i got a written quote (as a text message) to: - repair and clean front gutter - reseal lead gutter - repoint ridge tiles - repoint verge - repoint bits of chimney and and new top on chimney. thats word for word. The distinction between 'repoint ridge tiles' and 'repoint bits of chimney'...
