    High temp heat pumps??

Thanks both- bit if food for thought as they say! I might just try running the house boiler at 35- that’s a smart idea- pretty sure it wouldn’t cut the mustard but I might be pleasantly surprised too. I’m no where near even considering investing in one of these.

    High temp heat pumps??

Thanks Omph. So the ones advertised to run at higher temps do so at a reduced COP? Here’s one I see advertised: https://axebiotech.ie/monoblock-r290-heatpumps/ Too good to be true I guess!

    High temp heat pumps??

Hi there. Will be replacing boiler in the next year or so. Wondering if anyone has experience with the higher temperature air to water boilers? Curious if they are genuinely a good alternative- 1950s semi D - not the warmest.

WI-FI TRVs- are these a thing?

Hi Hllns- what system are you using to automate? I’m thinking of building a simple manifold and possibly using underfloor heating actuators- but then I’d need to automate it…

Want to install a Manifold and actuators/controller recommendation.

Hi there. My heating system is not zoned and I have been thinking of splitting the floors and the immersion coil with a manifold in the hot press. I can do all that handy enough. So I’m just wondering about controlling all this. Is there a good controller out there that works with certain...

WI-FI TRVs- are these a thing?

Thanks all. Current thermostat is a wireless Honeywell system I put in 15 years ago- works fine but it too would need to be swapped out. I’m having a rethink and I’m going to see how feasible it would be to install or build a manifold that I can easily isolate without walking into every room in...

WI-FI TRVs- are these a thing?

Hi there. My self and herself both work from home. She works in the attic I work downstairs- we rarely have the heating on during the day but if we did we would be heating the whole house. I was wondering if WI-FI TRVs are a thing (I’m sure I saw them) and if they would be a suitable solution...

Laying a slab for a patio

Literally anything!! Any sort of DIY thats too dirty to do inside! I do have a garage but some work lends itself to being @ the back door. I could be breaking an engine one week...just servicing a bike/plumbing/carpentry anything really. This week for example ive been a tree surgeon...

Laying a slab for a patio

Yeah maybe it would ... I'd still prefer something along the lines of concrete as I envisage working out there occasionally. Is a polished concrete slab a hard thing to achieve. Cheers Marty.

Shower works for first person...but doesnt heat on restart

Yeah that would sound about right...the flow is keeping it cool when first run. But when shut down the heat built up on the face of the stat is not been taken away because the scale is insulating it. Ill rip it apart and report back...unfortunately the only way to test this properly will be...

    Wireless thermostat query

There is also the CM921...the cm927 allows you set different temperature profiles for different days of the week....maybe overkill for what you want. I have the 921 and i have installed them for others and they are a great bit of kit. Re the TRV's: Decide on a room that the stat will live...
