How do I repair door frame please?

Wow, thanks all for your advice. I will try the split repair and new hinge positions first. if that doesn’t work I’ll try cutting out and putting in a new piece of wood. Failing that, it’ll be a tradesman to do the job. Thanks again. Mutley56

How do I repair door frame please?

Thanks all for your views. Sounds tricky for sure. Maybe I’ll chop out the damaged vertical and affix a new section in its place. At least that won’t create too much of a problem, if my attempt doesn’t work, for a chippy to put right when I call one in. Many thanks again. Mutley56

Hi all, I’ve purchased a new American style fridge freezer for my mum. It has a long thin plastic water pipe to service the chilled water and ice functions. Is it advisable to cut the length of the tubing, it is really long, as the cold water copper pipe and connector to it are very near the...

Terracotta pots over lights under loft insulation

Thanks again for the advice. Thankfully not mouse droppings, they are dead flies! No dead mice or chewed cables seen I’m pleased to say. Am I better to drop a light down into the bathroom to read what’s on it or look from above in the loft? Thanks in advance for advice.

Terracotta pots over lights under loft insulation

Good afternoon, There is a small but constant drip from under the temperature control lever on my Aqualisa 900 (I think) concealed thermostatic shower valve. It is a metal body one and only drips when the shower is on. Do you think the whole cartridge needs replacing or could it be that...

Does this plumbing look correct? I’ve got a bad smell coming from the washing machine - kind of from behind- and there’s lots of gurgling in the sink

I would look to put a cap on that uncapped isolation valve in case it’s knocked open under the sink and allows water out. Mutley56
