    Replacing radiator side panels?

The side panels on one of my radiators are warped, loose and missing the clip that holds them to the radiator. I don't know what the radiator brand is - other than the engraved letter "F", there are no visible markings. One of the other radiators in the flat says "NF49", so it's possible this...

Hive or Worcester Bosch Easy wireless control.

I have the same question - getting a Worcester Bosch 4000 combi installed. I have an existing Drayton smart thermostat, which has worked well with the old (non-Opentherm) boiler. Given the Bosch 4000 doesn't support OpenTherm either, hence no modulation from the smart thermostat - is this...

Are non-fire rated LED downlights dangerous?

Electrician has told me I should replace all the LED downlights in my flat with fire-rated lights. It’s a flat on one floor and the space above the ceiling is the loft. Other flats below. The existing non-fire rated lights were only installed 6-7 years ago and this never came up with the...

Hot water no longer coming through on Grohe Smart Control

I had a Grohe Smart Control shower installed two years ago. It has three valves. Recently, the hot water has stopped coming through for one of the valves. The other two valves are fine. The boiler is a Worcester combo-boiler. Any suggestions what could be causing this?

Advertising board impact on building structural integrity?

Would the structural assessment require entering the property, or could this have been carried out from externally?

Advertising board impact on building structural integrity?

I live in a flat which has a large digital advertising board on the side of the building. This replaced a non-digital one a few years ago. The building is a Victorian property and there have been relatively minor cracks in the walls for some years, but I am wondering if this could be...

Quartz worktop with silicone - peeling and gap

I have just had a quartz worktop fitted in a bathroom. The fitter measured beforehand, but clearly did not template properly, as a result, it appears there are gaps along the wall, this was filled with translucent silicone, and silicone all the way along the edge with the wall. Some of the...

    Discolouration on new steel bath

Hi Ken, yes it is slightly raised. I purchased it and unfortunately didn’t notice this issue at the time it arrived and it’s now fitted, so not sure how practical it will be to replace it vs. repair?

    Discolouration on new steel bath

I have a newly-fitted steel bath. I’ve noticed a yellow spot on the bath (photo attached). White vinegar and scrubbing won’t remove it. Given it’s a brand new bath, I’m concerned about this, could it be a chip/rust or is there a way to remove the discolouration?

How long for extractor fan timer?

There’s a 2 gang switch to turn the lights and fan on separately

How long for extractor fan timer?

It has a timer module so the time is configurable, just need to decide what to set it to :)

How long for extractor fan timer?

The fan operates at 67m3/hr, so based on the above calculations, that’s 6.7 times an hour, for 4 air changes: 4/6.7 * 60 = 35 min, so perhaps the current setting is actually ok?

How long for extractor fan timer?

How long for extractor fan timer?

I have a new bathroom extractor fan, its timer is set by default to continue to run for 35min when turned off. This feels long and it’s a small bathroom, is there a way to calculate how long an extractor fan should run based on the room size?

    Very stiff pneumatic toilet flush

It’s already a bit stiff when not connected, worse when connected. There doesn’t appear to be a kink. This is the first pneumatic flush I’ve had, so I’m not sure what a reasonable amount of pressure is?

    Very stiff pneumatic toilet flush

Hi all, I’ve had a Geberit concealed toilet cistern installed with a pneumatic dual-flush button. The flush button is very very difficult to push, once pushed it does flush but it requires a lot of effort. Is this normal for a pneumatic flush button?

Are sound-proofed vent tiles available on the market, or are they all a standard model? This is for a slate roof.
