Best substrate to tile on? Brick, plaster, Board.

Hello, I'm about to start building my Ensuite. 1 wall is stud and plasterboard, so my intention is to acrylic primer then tile straight onto it. The other 3 walls are going to be back to bare brick. Tiling over this will be a pain, as its bound to be uneven. But i'm wondering what is the best...

Stone Bath waste, (like basin waste but bigger)

It arrived today but was another basin waste. The seals looked better and it was longer so I decided to try it anyway. It doesn't leak, so I suppose that's a plus but it doesn't look right in the bath and it will leave a small amount of water surrounding the plug. I'm going to leave it for now...

Stone Bath waste, (like basin waste but bigger)

I possibly could have, I did ask but he wasn't that sure, for the cost I guess it doesn't matter and its worth one last shot. I could probably use it on another basin or something.

Stone Bath waste, (like basin waste but bigger)

I've just called them an ordered. But I fear it will dimensionally be correct at 1.5" but actually be a 1 1/4 BSP thread which will be infact smaller.

Stone Bath waste, (like basin waste but bigger)

A got the bath from a high end house renovator in london and it was on its own. I have spoken to somebody that makes/imports stone baths to UK and he has the wastes custom made. The one you linked is a basin waste again so 1 1/4. More importantly the flange is 60mm rather than 70. I have...

Stone Bath waste, (like basin waste but bigger)

Hello, Thanks both for the suggestions. That looks like it could/would work, but we wanted the pop up style, this bath was incredibly expensive, and that plug would somewhat detract. I tried the company that imported these baths and they couldn't help. I'm not sure if this bath was a complete...

Stone Bath waste, (like basin waste but bigger)

Hello, I have a stone (travetine) bath, but I have no waste for it. Standard won't work. It needs to look like a basin waste but be 1 1/2 inch rather than 1 1/4. I managed to find this...

My DIY house refurb. Half complete,

Bathroom pretty much completed We went for a door on the shower. Also we have the large head and a wall mounted "flip" shower or something from Mira. Altogether we get 35lpm flow rate from both showers. This causes an issue for the "high flow" (or not) waste. You simply have to turn one...

My DIY house refurb. Half complete,

We now had a fantastic flow rate and pressure, over 40LPM straight out of the 32mm pipe. With this I order a boiler. I went for an unvented hot water tank and decided to mount it in the cellar. With all the pipework in place I started to ring plumbers to come and connect it. You need a ticket...

My DIY house refurb. Half complete,

Thankyou, I haven't update this often. Back to the outside. Rear of the house now rendered in monocouche. I didn't apply the render. But I did "rub it up". I left it till the next day, on instructions from the manufacturer. What a mistake, I've since learnt an early start and rub up on the...

My DIY house refurb. Half complete,

Its all about, taking your time, doing prior research and just having a go in my opinion. Just have a go, although electrics and plumbing if you're unsure at all get help! These type of tiles I dreaded, but they are by far the easiest out of them all. If you have bad walls or don't think you...

My DIY house refurb. Half complete,

Downstairs toilet ceiling up Boarder skirting Back to the upstairs, I used a BAL tanking kit, before tiling I wasn't sure if to go staggered or normal. I went staggered. But this was MUCH harder due to the wall not been totally flat. (remember this is my first go at wall...

14mm Engineered oak Flooring - different shades

Remember if you are using natural wood then it will change shade as well when the sun is on it, it usually darkens with age I think. I know my floor (American walnut) has got darker. I personally like the differences in shade.

My DIY house refurb. Half complete,

Onto the inside now. This was me laying out the downstairs toilet. To get to this stage was a nightmare, I had to smash through nearly 10 meters of concrete floor to lay the 4inch pipe. I was worried it was going to be too small, from memory its 1400mm x 900mm. Its plenty big enough to be...
