Which kitchen units on a budget

If you are refering to the floor, then nothing more where the units will go, seems poinless to fit then cover. But I intend to fit cut fllor tiles as skirting where it would be seen. Once the units are in and worktop is fitted I will fit at least 1 row of wall tiles above Coljack.

Which kitchen units on a budget

Yep, looks like you had a fair amount to repair there  http://www.davies-cookproducts.com/trademultipack.htm It may be deemed a bit girlish using them but they do work a treat.

Which kitchen units on a budget

I was standing on the ceiling while painting the red and that was as far as I could reach John, the steps kept falling off so couldnt use them  I used an Electrical Backbox Plastering Guide from ebay to make good around the sockets. Plenty of sockets, I hope...

    Reusable backbox plastering guide?

Just a quick update on this, I tried the "Electrical Backbox Plastering Guide" and it does give good results. I will expand on this later as I am a bit short on time atm for a full review. I have now after time to let the plaster dry some wiped down with a damp cloth and on with white...

    Reusable backbox plastering guide?

It was till I got them to hack it all off and start again. That was the result of hardwall-finish-whoops its nowhere near level, lets have another try over the top-bonding-finish- whoops its still not right...better get the boss to plaster it.

    Reusable backbox plastering guide?

Or if in my case the "Specialist" plasterers leave you with trimmed out boxes looking like this. I agree these inserts are of little use to a proper spread, in fact they would get in his way so much that you would come back to find he had binned them for you. But as an aid to...

    Reusable backbox plastering guide?

Well I think I will give them a try, the plasterers made such a meal of the walls in my recent extension that the area around most of my boxes look like bomb craters so I have a fair bit of tidying up to do. Richard C will remember the saga...

    Reusable backbox plastering guide?

I didnt post the full instructions for use in case I got accused of spaming ;-) but the guide is greased before use and left for the plaster to dry then the guide is flexed away from the plaster before removal. The center bridge bit on doubles is removable.

    Hardwall over bright nails?

Well the guy turned up to strip the wall, put down a tarp, ply sheeting and cloths. The plaster came off reasonably easily, some real big differences in thickness, top of the wall was around 18mm and bottom was 38mm. Interestingly the hardwall didnt stick to my plastic cable capping so with...

    Hardwall over bright nails?

    Hardwall over bright nails?

Thanks for the reply Richard. The imo best, most helpful of the guys that were here yesterday turned up today to finish the job on his own. I showed him all my concerns and he is busy rectifying others work. None of the cables were live btw ;) He's going to cut back around all the boxes...

    Hardwall over bright nails?

Plasterers arrived today, boarded ceiling, hardwalled all the walls, plasterboarded the window reveals and plastered them. When they left there was 1 window wall still to be multied and 2 stubs where the window once was (now an opening to a room) to finish. Firstly should the plaster have...

    Hardwall over bright nails?

Sorry Richard, I knew what I meant...Floor tiles to lay not wall ;-) Dont want floor tiles down before walls are done.

    Hardwall over bright nails?

This company was £100 more than the guy that was going to do the job, but I managed to get them to drop the price by £70 as I was aware that they dont have full order books atm. Its quiet for most trades around here atm. I have not seen their work, though they are an approved council...

    Hardwall over bright nails?

Well its still not plastered, the guy was coming last weekend then couldnt and was due this weekend but has a family emergency now so cant. I have found another company to do the work starting Tuesday but the original spread was hardwalling it all, the new company says its the same price if...
