    What tool do I need?

Failing that, you'll get there with a sharp cold chisel if the grinder access is difficult. John :)

How do i get the perfect drill hole width?

Ah right......a grip bar to help in the shower or similar.......I was visualising some gymnastic item of horror for a while! Keep at it with your 6mm masonry drill - a blast of air in the hole is good for clearing the dust out - and also giving you an eyeful. In future if the plug sticks out a...

How do i get the perfect drill hole width?

Fairly common this one! No harm in using the drill to bring the dust out and it’s unlikely a vacuum cleaner would do this well. Consider using a quality plug such as Fischer - they are tough and splined near the top. Are you sure a 6mm plug is sufficient for this project? John

Lawnmower battery care for petrol tractor mower

If I am jump starting any small engine like these, I earth the black lead to the chassis somewhere and then flash the red one onto the starter motor terminal......I don't think it's a good idea to say, connect a large car battery directly to the mower battery for any length of time. Have you...

What vehicle(s) do you drive on a regular basis?

For me it's a Peugeot Bipper van for carting stuff around (67 plate, 1.3 diesel, 60 MPG and the springs are hard as hell) a Toyota Yaris Cross hybrid (72 plate, 60 MPG) and 'er indoors has a Honda HRV 1.6 diesel (19 plate, 52 MPG - with wincing service costs). Plus a classic Honda CB500S when...

    Peugeot 208 passenger seat stuck

Believe it or nota good sousing with WD40 or similar where the seat back hooks on to is all that's needed.......you may need to shift some of the seat side trim to get in there though. John :)

Lawnmower battery care for petrol tractor mower

Your battery will have a code written on it, particularly mentioning the important A/H or Amp Hour rating. Purchase a similar replacement and the terminals will be in the correct place and also the physical size will be the same. Look after it by using a smart charger or similar - a car battery...

    MS170 Coil pack issue maybe

For sure, I'd give that one a try.......if your luck is in, you maybe won't need to adjust the screws anyway. Once they are done, they should stay in adjustment for a good while. John :)

    MS170 Coil pack issue maybe

The original standard MS170 carburettor isn't adjustable, other than the idling RPM. It's known for being troublesome.......I'd recommend an adjustable carb from an MS270 - or another Amazon replacement. John :)

    MS170 Coil pack issue maybe

I didn't mean the L/H screws this time - just the single Left Hand threaded one. If I remember correctly it should be screwed right in? What happens when the machine is ticking over, and you adjust this screw? John :)

    MS170 Coil pack issue maybe

Keep the machine at a fast tickover then turn the LH screw......what happens? John

Getting a car inspected by the RAC/AA a good idea?

I've sold vehicles using the AA for the benefit of the buyer and found them pretty conscientious in their examinations. Of course there's a get out clause though in case anything is missed. Personally I think it gives you a certain peace of mind, having seen 'prepared ' vehicles come my way...

    Roof sheathing

For sure, the more support for sarking sheets the better really, although sarking is quite rare in England - although a great idea in my opinion. My holiday cottage in Seahouses is though, using tongue and groove floor type boards. As for new homes build quality.......you could spend your like...

    Wipers stopped working

Ideally there should be no coolant loss at all........however, that amount of loss does not indicate anything nasty like a head gasket, more like a tiny weep on a hose or seal somewhere. Keep it topped up, have a look round for anything obvious that shows a crust - often red. John :)

    Roof sheathing

Visible from the loft, Emma - you could put some in but I'd strongly resist any hammering! You could tape over the joints to prevent draughts - if any - but it isn't needed. John :)

Removing nut on old towel radiator

This is probably the one: https://www.screwfix.com/p/faithfull-faisprad-l-shape-radiator-spanner-10mm-13mm/133rh John :)

Removing nut on old towel radiator

Yes, just use the correct size allen key and the inserts will unscrew. The new radiator threads should be the same. John :)

Great to see someone taking so much care and interest in their home, Emma! Regards John :)

    Roof sheathing

No need to worry about that one Emma - sheet material such as this often has splits and it's only through one layer of veneer. Ply such as this (it's actually a material called 'stoutheart' as far as I can see) doesn't need to be of first quality as such volumes would be expensive, hence it's...
