Is this a genuine service stamp?

Stopped me making an expensive mistake then. This is the third van I've viewed in a week and the second that has almost certainly been clocked. It seems clocking a vehicle just before its first MOT must be fairly common and quite easy

Is this a genuine service stamp?

Hi, I ask because there's no name or address of the garage in question. It is also the only way of verifying if the milage on the van is correct (its only just had its first MOT so no milage history from that). If it's a fake stamp then its almost certainly a clocked vehicle. thank you

Can anyone recommend a plunge / track saw?

That makita surely is the daddy but yes a little pricey. I was cutting C24 along its length (2.5M), it did do it eventually but the blade stopped 3 or 4 times for lack of power. The wood didn't feel damp but maybe not house dry. I know my old £40 saw would have done it no probs

Can anyone recommend a plunge / track saw?

Truth be told I bought an evolution battery powered saw but the blade got jammed while cutting 45mm softwood, is that normal? I really struggled to get it out. I'm thinking of returning it and getting 240V £350 ish budget. I will check out Mr Millard

Can anyone recommend a plunge / track saw?

Hi, I've finally decided to upgrade my £40 circular saw I've had for about 10 years. It works but is so loud it hurts my head and I've been tempted by these track saws. thank you

Ok thanks, condensation is a real issue in winter so that would be a big plus!

Are argon filled windows worth the extra?

Hi, I have about 6 standard double glazed panes that need replacing (just the glass), my local window place offers argon filled glass which is 20% more expensive. Should I bother? Ta

    Shower tray/tiling gap

Just use silicon, enough to fill all the gaps and holes but not too much so its visible.

    Shower tray/tiling gap

I'd remove the old trim and use something like this https://www.wickes.co.uk/Homelux-White-Bath-Seal---1-75m/p/229568

Garage roof joist sizing and span - does this seem ok?

Thats exactly what I thought but some wood suppliers suggest it is also stronger as below https://www.daviestimber.co.uk/blogs/news/pressure-treated-timber "Strength. Pressure treated timber has stronger properties than untreated timber, so can stand much more force. When installed it will...

Garage roof joist sizing and span - does this seem ok?

Ok thanks looks like it will have to be 125mm @ 400mm spacing. Seems like overkill especially when my old shed is only using 50mm thick joists!

Garage roof joist sizing and span - does this seem ok?

Hi, 2.6M span with 125mm X 47mm C24 @ 600mm centres. Topped with 18mm OSB and epdm rubber. Its a sectional concrete garage (2.6M X 4.8M) looking to replace current roof with a new flat one. Does this sound ok? many thanks

Garden out building extending the roof - is this allowed?

So I actually had to look up verandah "a large, open porch, usually roofed and partly enclosed, as by a railing, often extending across the front and sides of a house" Still non the wiser

Garden out building extending the roof - is this allowed?

Hi, I have a concrete garage at the end of my garden, its 2.5M X 5M right on the boundary. I'd like to turn into a workshop. I'm planning on replacing the roof but want to make it larger so it overhangs making the roof 3M X 6M. So the internal building will remain the same at 12m2 but the roof...
