Price of a small load of ready mixed concrete?

Thanks you'd convinced me to do it myself, £200 materials, £30 mixer hire...but then.. I had one final quote come back £255 all in for concrete delivered and barrowed to where I need it. Can't argue with that :)

Price of a small load of ready mixed concrete?

Are you sure? can one person and a mixer get that done in a day? 2.3 tonne of ballast and 11 bags of cement by my reckoning

Price of a small load of ready mixed concrete?

Hi, I'm looking to order 1.3 m3 of concrete for a shed base. A quick google search tells me the average price is £75 per m3 plus delivery (from checkatrade link below). So I'm thinking about £200. I've had 2 quotes and both have been over £450. Am I being over quoted? I'm based in Birmingham...

Suspected collapsed drain - Who is responsible?

Wow great diagram thanks. If its correct then the problem drain would be responsibility of the water company, good news for me and the neighbour. Their extension was certainly built before 2011

Suspected collapsed drain - Who is responsible?

Hi, We think the drain leaving our property may have collapsed right under our neighbours rear extension. We are at the top end of a run so the drains all flow downwards from our house. The collapse does not affect out neighbour as their drains connect up after the collapse. Who is responsible...

Pressure slowly rising in combi boiler

There is an isolation valve just before the boiler so it is something I could do. So if the pressure stops rising once isolated its either faulty filling valve or heat exchanger? would that be right?

Pressure slowly rising in combi boiler

Thanks for the reply, it has been a slow gradual increase over 3 weeks. It came with a 7 years warranty....just want to make sure its not something non boiler related before making a claim

Pressure slowly rising in combi boiler

Hi, I noticed a few weeks ago the pressure in our combi boiler had risen to over 2 bar. I removed about a pint of water from a radiator bleed valve and got it down to just over 1 bar. Now 3 weeks later the pressure has risen again to over 2 bar. The heating is switched off and has been all...

Can I put a wooden roof on a concrete sectional garage?

I like a nice pent roof and you just need some felt and nails so an idiot like me can't mess up. You are tempting me with a flat roof but I'm sure it would leak! I hadn't though about the exposed timber I guess some external wood paint  It will be bolted to the concrete panels with some...

Can I put a wooden roof on a concrete sectional garage?

Because I don't rightly know what a furring is :giggle: I'm trying to keep it simple, I've done a shed pent roof before and I know it won't leak. The concrete sections are all 2M tall so I'll need to add something the one side, plus I'll have a tad more headroom than I do now. 150mm X 50mm...

Can I put a wooden roof on a concrete sectional garage?

So I had to look up what a purlin was :/ I was planning on removing the entire current roofing structure. The rafters would span the 250cm width. I was just going to add some wood the one side to give it some lift to ensure adequate fall on the pent roof

Can I put a wooden roof on a concrete sectional garage?

Hi, Typical concrete sectional garage with a tin corrugated roof. I'd like to replace it with a pent wooden roof (rafters every 60cm going width ways then OSB board and felt). A generally heavier roof, would there be any issues with this? thanks

Concrete base over existing patio slabs??

Hi, I want to move a concrete garage onto an area where there is currently a patio, rather than get it all up would there be any merit in just pouring a 50mm slab over the current patio? The garage is used for general storage I notice the garage is currently sitting on a 50mm slab on top of a...
