    Trackers

They don't have a perfect location, they've got a precise location that points to a specific spot. That spot may or may not be where the vehicle is. Precision Vs accuracy.

The under 4s make up 3.5 million people. I guess they won't be able to use the app.

Fun fact, children now are significantly smarter than the 70s thanks to better nutrition, healthcare and not breathing lead fumes. That's actually thanks to your generation rather than them doing anything, but the idea they aren't as bright is just nonsense without any backing in reality.

JFC, can't you just Google this stuff before dumong your ignorant nonsense over the thread? Edit of course you can't. Android 8, (correction, 10) now also 8 (6) years old.

You can write to the king and demand a personal sponge bath, it will be just as effective.

So no change.. Except they'd need to compromise your password to log in and your 2FA device and stop you getting any of the notifications that get sent out when that's done. And pass the facial scan needed to reassign the 2fa, which I strongly suspect they keep a record of. Oh and you'd be...

Theyre simple enough and commonplace in modern IT. But if you don't know what they mean then you shouldn't really be weighing in on if this is safe or secure.

The use case is obvious. For government purposes you need one way to prove who you are. Typically that's driving licence or passport. This is what's called Authentication. You then need to know for that person what they're allowed to do. eg. View or update your Driving licence, veterans ID...

Just for fun I've set up my account. It took a while as I had to set up a new authentication app as I've changed phone, which meany I had to verify my ID which involved my driving licence, verifying personal details, a live face scan and two factor authentication. Ive also linked my driving...

Mandatory ID cards (Brit Card) to be announced tomorrow

I am not struggling with that at all, if the digital ID is made universal then it will inevitably replace all other government photo ID. The digital ID has been suggested as being mandatory to work, but that doesn't make it universal as, for example, most of the people ranting about it are...

A driving license is the defacto default ID now, which is not mandatory. So there's no change there. And none of that decides if ID theft is easier or harder. No one has said this would be the exclusive form of ID either. The luddites will probably be able to use their physical driving licences...

Which is a concern but not unfixable. And as a balance identity theft will be much harder.

Your identity is always at risk of being stolen. Therefore you say we can't have a driving license?

That's not needed for digital ID. You can't use your driving licence now as proof of residency status or right to work either do you?

Mandatory ID cards (Brit Card) to be announced tomorrow

It's covered earlier in the thread, but essentially it's going to be a consolidation of all other government Identity systems to share a unique single identity for each person and to allow reliable cross referencing. They've already got your data. Then you won't get any of the protection you...

The funny thing is the luddites who won't engage with the system are also the ones most at risk for it. Their data will still be in the system, but they won't have any way of being notified that it is being used and they're the ones whose identites could actually be stolen.
