Why a switched live fan is not switching on?

I haven't actually seen it run because like you say with L and N connected and the light on it should operate until the light is switched off. If a fan does not require earth can the earth wire be used for the switched live connection instead?

Why a switched live fan is not switching on?

Broken neutral even with the light working!?

Why a switched live fan is not switching on?

Yes, with bathroom light which has an LED lamp. Builder keeps says maybe fans are too powerful for the circuit but I reminded him light bulbs used to be 100w and the fan is just 20-33w

Why a switched live fan is not switching on?

Gosh that is cheap. For some reason I thought they cost so much more but maybe that's for a fancy one. The builder is completing the bathroom so hasn't finished installing. While I don't know if he really knows, the previous electrician couldn't make it work either. If it was found that...

Why a switched live fan is not switching on?

The Xpelair fan is new and a second one has been tried. Are you saying I can replicate the switched live wiring by feeding from the live wire to the switched live terminal an don contact that would activate the fan (and when disconnected switch off after the timed period)?

Why a switched live fan is not switching on?

I don't and have not seen my builder with one so i don't think extensive testing with know-how is going happen without a proper electrician

Why a switched live fan is not switching on?

I understand the basics of live and neutral feeding a timed extractor and then switched live feeding that terminal. My builder has who say he's wired it up successfully before can't make it work. I would say neither him nor I are skilled enough to troubleshoot it but in the other bathroom when I...

Gas meter & extractor fan vent okay within same area?

Are there any regs saying this is not allowed? The theory being that if there was a gas leak, the gas should stay within the house so it could be smelt/detected? I have a gas meter within a wall cupboard that have the bathroom 100mm extractor fan exhaust within 30cm of the meter and its piping.

Where to get Longest Cable for Push Button to Valve in Cistern (concealed)?

Was going to have a back to wall toilet in the smallest even ensuite with the cistern in the neighbouring bathroom. I actually found that some macdee cisterns have 1.5m pneumatic tubes, so hope that helps anyone who is googling for a similar thing

Where to get Longest Cable for Push Button to Valve in Cistern (concealed)?

Longest I have found is 570mm. Does anyone know if longer is possible and where to get it? I need about 1.5m...

Can this toilet pan go further back (to wall)?

The access is limited; basically what you can see for the cistern in the phone. The connection is like this for the soil pipe (flip photo 180 degree horizontal, flow direction is right) as there is another toilet connected so it's not a straightforward single connection and the flexible...

Can this toilet pan go further back (to wall)?

Builder says because the previous builder has used a flexi connector which is not right, it cannot go further back. The box is about 180mm deep. What the options to get this further back, ideally right to the tiled wall?

Is this boiler beyond saving? Your verdict please...

I had the same crap in my trap. Now cleared. But the condensate pipe was also blocked and needed drain unblocker (tried blowing down tube first which has worked before). Never had to clean out a trap in a 15 year worcester or vaillant but Ideal and this Main have stopped because of it. Good to know!

Is this boiler beyond saving? Your verdict please...

Thanks for insisting, it was the condense. I was thrown by the water coming out from elsewhere and the boiler not shutting down like other good brands do. I still can't wait to change this rubbish brand boiler!

Is this boiler beyond saving? Your verdict please...

From what I have read, condensate backing up should be overflowing from the bottle trap and perhaps shut down the boiler with an error code (E133?)

Is this boiler beyond saving? Your verdict please...

Before I saw inside I thought blocked condense but it makes sense that the condense has backed up all the way to the section showing the leak. Will investigate more...

Is this boiler beyond saving? Your verdict please...

When running the boiler makes a noise like it is sloshing around lots of water. Engineer said to try draining the system. The pressure normally changed depending if running or not so I suspect it is the water in radiator. No sloshing around sound when heating hot water.

Is this boiler beyond saving? Your verdict please...

When running. The part referred to in photo is nowhere near condense pipe and isn't condense water.
