What sort of damp is this?

Certainly it could be, but deal with the cheap, easily solved indoor moisture levels first. Drying clothes indoors, is guaranteed to produce mould, as are the other things I mentioned.

What have you been doing today?

Yep, I appreciate all that, but I had the fitting, and spare lamps in stock, but it had a failed ballast of type no longer available. Rocky, kindly donated three electrically compatibles, though not physically, making the exercise worth-while. I was able to mount the ballast unit indoors, the...

How to Clean Up This Pine

Are you putting damp clothing in there?

What sort of damp is this?

Never simply dry washing in a habitable space, indoors, is the rule, and never pile things tight against outside, or against divider walls, where the adjacent room in unheated. Make sure your bathroom has an extract fan, which should always be used. When cooking, ensure lids are used on pans...

What have you been doing today?

This once very expensive fitting, cost me £0.00, and they are as efficient as LED - so why not make use of it?

    Cavity wall insulation question

Some energy companies, loan out such equipment. Octopus do, but there is quite a waiting list I heard.

Do *any* metal roofed sheds, NOT sweat?

Either spelling is an accepted English word. I was taught 'rooves'.

What have you been doing today?

I've had the big double-extension ladders up now, for what seems like a couple of weeks, on the drive, awaiting a suitable opportunity, to swap the old LPS yellow light fitting, for a more modern HPS white light. Mid-week, the weather allowed me to try to get up there, but I went dizzy, half-way...

    Panorama - damp/mould

I understand, it works just great in the US, but with different roof design. It crossed the pond, and the installers here miss-sell it as fix-all a solution for the UK's very different issues.

    Heating intermittent

The idea of the bypass, is to short-circuit you heating system, so there is still some flow of water through the boiler, to help cool it, once all of the TRV's are satisfied, and closed. The bypass is pressure valve operated, if the pressure rises above a set level, it opens, allowing flow via...

    Thoughts/advice about welding

With many welders, they supply some sort of cheap mask. The problem is you need to have the mask's protection in place, before the arc is struck. You end up guessing where the material, and the business end of the welder is - very difficult to do. An automatic helmet, means you can see both...

    Panorama - damp/mould

Yep, the more sealed up, and well insulated a house becomes, the more important it is, to have properly planned ventilation, plus the ventilation used.

    Heating intermittent

Either the pump isn't actually pumping, or there is some sort of blockage in the pipework.

Replacement LED Driver for 36v 12w

I think you must have been very unlucky. We have several sets, one is around 15 years old, red, green, yellow, blue. A row of 4 of the blues failed, a couple of years ago, and that was used in the front window, and the failure was noticeable there., so we simply relegated it to use on the tree...

Do *any* metal roofed sheds, NOT sweat?

Something which is absolutely predictable to happen. I have three metal rooves. Garage, workshop, and a summer house. The latter doesn't really count in this discussion, because it has a timber roof, felted, and then a sheet steel roof on top. The only time I've had issues with moisture, in...

    Random loss of TV signal

If it is only affecting the one TV, and it is a brief flicker, it's unlikely to be someone chatting on the radio - it would generally wipe the signal out for much longer. If you still think it might be, then see if you can get a CB/amateur radio filter fitted, in the coax - or even make one up...
