Hi May sound a silly question but should CH flow and return pipes (normal 3 bed semi with fully pumped system) be in 22mm and tee'd off in 15mm only up to the rads to get enough flow rhough to them?

I had an airlock in my heating pipework before - in my old house. I had to close all the radiator trv or manual valves fully off, set the pump speed to maximum and force the air out one by one. But you have no boiler working, so you may need to try a different method known as backfill...

Have been told today that it is best to have a drain off on the boiler - it helps when draining and refilling ch systems to prevent airlocks? any truth in this or is it just as good as one on a low level radiator? just curious? any experts know about this?

Why do 3 port valves need a neutral wire to the actuator? I understand why an earth is used, as with the honeywell v40437, as it has a metal lid, but why a neutral? just curious!
