It depends on how hard the material is that you are trying to drill through. I have sucessfully drilled 100+ mm holes with my SDS drill but also had to hire a heavy duty drill for some jobs.

Yes I would think that is part of the temperature control circuit and as it looks physically damaged I would replace it. But not sure how it would cause a problem with the LCD. Or is what you are describing normal operation of the LCD.

Did you check if there was any conduction between each terminal and the casing of the element.If there is non then it sounds like possibly a control board fault.you may be best off asking Bosch if they do a fixed price repair.

Use the model numbers to do an internet search and see if they operate independantly. It would be unusual if they don't.
