The argument/point i am trying to make is that the boiler is definately not allowed to be fitted in zone 1/2 (601-08-01). But the op was going to fit it within the confines of a secured cupboard (you could read that as small room) in zone 2 now imho theres a world of difference between that...

But the regs contradict the blurb in the nic connections mag,how on earth does a bath panel with two screws in it limit the extent of zone 1.

If it was removed from underneath the catalytic convertor i would replace it because they become extremely hot and if you park over combustable material i.e grass, waste paper the inevitable will happen.

It doesn't change zones,its outside zones if accessible only with the use of a tool. So surely if the door is secured/screwed regs have been met.

Well it needs to be easy to get to should the customer want to turn the system off. The FCU could be next to the controller / programmer to allow the customer to have easy access to it. Then for the SAFETY of anyone working on the boiler it is a good idea to fit an additional ISOLATOR...

Chris i've looked at a few boiler manufacturers of those they all say the appliance can only be fitted to zone 3, as IP rating of boilers is generally IP20.Therefore if housed in a cupboard within zone 2 it effectively becomes zone 3 so imho perfectly acceptable.

Oh really silly me there i was thinking that all loads on parallel circuits receive the full circuit voltage. Do tell where the extra voltage comes from on a 12 volt regulated supply.

Had same fault recently on a vaillant ecomax, thanks to advise from ChrisR and others fitted new diverter and all is well. :) Steve

T'd off riser between hw cylinder and vent pipe never been a problem.

You hav'nt inadvertantly turned the cold water service valve off have you? Steve
