    SDS drill through paving slabs

Thanks for the paving slab on the shed floor suggestions - hadn't thought of that. However the existing patio area has a bit of a slope on it so I'm shimming up the timber bearers to level things up. So, I still need some advice on drilling through paving slabs with a 6mm masonry bit in an SDS...

    SDS drill through paving slabs

My understanding is that these concrete screws work by cutting a thread into the concrete slab, and hence are meant to not burst the slab like an expanding anchor would do. Cheers Ian

    SDS drill through paving slabs

Hi This weekend I'll be fixing some timber bearers onto an existing patio area prior to building a 6' x 4' garden shed. I'll be using 6mm DeWalt Hex Head Blue-Tip Concrete Screwbolts for the first time and these obviously need a pilot hole through the slabs first. I read conflicting advice on...

    Accenta 8 burglar alarm fault

Hi sparkymarka Thanks for the quick reply, even if it doesn't sound like good news! Any recommendations of a suitable panel to aim for? I'm 'OK' with DIY stuff, but am I better using a recognised installer for this? Thanks Ian

    Accenta 8 burglar alarm fault

Hi Issues with our Accenta 8 burglar alarm. Power cut a couple of weeks ago set the unset external alarm off. Entering the code to the remote keypad silenced it, but the keypad was then disabled and the tamper light was lit. Researched loads of forums like this one and it seemed a good first...

New cartridge reqd, but can't identify shower...

Hi My combi shower mixer has suddenly started to only run tepid. Central heating is fine and hot water in sinks is piping hot, so I'm ruling out the boiler. I've called a plumber who says it probably needs a new cartridge. Unfortunately I can't find any indication of the make or model of the...
