Is my boiler illegal and can't be serviced?

I ended up cutting out a section as it was too small to cut out just for an access hatch and discovered the boxing was actually glued back to plywood pattresses on both adjacent walls. I'll re-attach the cut-out with a couple of angle brackets after its been serviced so it allows for future...

Is my boiler illegal and can't be serviced?

Just to clarify flue, as only just seen later comments, it’s a top flue from boiler and then bend so horizontal through wall (just pulled out manual if that makes sense). It’s an ideal icon model. Thanks for feedback, can’t believe it’s taken the 6th engineer to enlighten us. Cheers

Is my boiler illegal and can't be serviced?

Thanks. So when Barratts installed the fixed boxing it was OK at the time but with rules changing 5 years ago, flue now needs inspecting. Can’t believe 5 different engineers have serviced it in last 5 years and not one has mentioned it before. Just pulled out the last few service reports and...

Is my boiler illegal and can't be serviced?

Hi, We bought a new Barratt Home in 2007 and haven't modified the boiler or its boxing since then however today an engineer has refused to service it saying its boxing and exposed pipe is illegal (boxing above boiler and pipe to side - photo attached). The boiler has been serviced each year...

Newly installed Airflow Icon 30S not working??

Update....and Iggifer you'd be right. He re-checked all the power suppliers this morning and then he asked "is it an American Manufacturer as they use grey neutral wiring and not black?" None the wiser myself I pulled out the fitting instruction manual and clearer states 'Grey Neutral', 'Brown...

Newly installed Airflow Icon 30S not working??

All, Thanks for the responses, definitely no module fitted. I've just left the switch on for 5 minutes just in case as it does have a sticker on it advising "Delayed Shutter Opening" put no joy. I'll talk him through your points above tomorrow whilst trying not to sound like I'm telling him how...

Newly installed Airflow Icon 30S not working??

Iggifer, Thank for the response, no timer modular fitted so not that. He's checked all the connections going in and said they were all reading OK. As the transformer had a green indicator on it, it also seemed to confirm it was receiving power. He was either thinking the transformer itself was...

Newly installed Airflow Icon 30S not working??

Hi, Just had my bathroom fitted out this week and we had an Airflow Icon 30S (12v IPX4) fitted above the shower head. However, the electrician is pulling his hair out as despite checking the wiring on several occasions, and there been a green light on the transformer of the icon unit when you...

Range Tribune HE - How to increase pressure?

Hi there. I had to partially bleed a couple of my radiators earlier and now the boiler is making lots of noise. Checked the pressure gauge on the red expansion vessel and it reads NIL. I would appreciate advice on how to increase this. There are plenty of valves and taps around, but none...

Sensors stopped working on accenta Optima?

Thanks Atilla, If I flick the mains off at the consumer unit, I guess the alarm will go into battery back-up mode. Am I OK at this point to change the fuse or do I need to do anything else first? Also is there likely to be only 1no fuse in main box or will I have to check a few? PS...

Sensors stopped working on accenta Optima?

Hi, I have an Accenta 8EP396A Optima Compact panel with built-in LED Keypad. I have recently had to move the sensors on the wall due to fitting coving. This triggered the Tamper alarm on the panel each time and also set of the external alarm. Although I have managed to re-set the keypad...

Fixing Posts to Tarmac with Anchor Bolts

Hi Thermo thanks for the angle grinder info. Unfortunately I can't set the post in concrete or the overall height would reduce by 250-300mm - This simple idea is looking like a project

Fixing Posts to Tarmac with Anchor Bolts

Hi all thanks for your comments - if not the quick fix solution I was planning :( Thanks for the link to the bolts and with a bit more info I've managed to track some down but they cost about £2.50/each !! (would need 20). - I guess these don't really work from your comments? I'm...

Fixing Posts to Tarmac with Anchor Bolts

Hi, I am wanting to fix some steel posts to my driveway (post and chain fencing). The posts have a 100mm square plate welded to the bottom with holes for 4no bolts (I did think of only having two fixing per post but I understand Tarmac is particularly hard to fix to so the more the better)...
