    Concrete Gutters

Earlier this year I had our concrete gutters fully re-lined. Already there are some damp patches at the top of the interior walls. So, a complete waste of money. The next step will be either aluminium linings or complete removal and replacement with uPVC. Which is best. Aluminium lining...

    Painting Garage

I am going to paint the inside of my garage which is lined with regular breeze blocks. I am thinking of putting on a layer of diluted pva followed by regular emulsion. My worry is that the garage is adjoined by a boiler room with a gas boiler. There is also a small freezer in the garage. Both of...

    Selling old woodworking tools.

I have a number of old woodworking tools that I need to sell but am not sure of the best way of going about it. The tools were owned by my late grandfather and date from the late Victorian or early 1900s period. I want to get some cash for them but also want them to go to a 'good home'. Are...

    Karcher K4 Pressure Washer

I'm thinking of buying one of these. If you've got one you may be able to help me with this. The Ads talk about it being possible to draw water via a bucket. But, will it also connect to an outside tap using a standard Hoselock 'yellow and orange' fitting? Also, what do you think of the product...

Wirquin Dual Flush Button - back nut question

I need to replace a Wirquin dual flush chrome finish toilet button. Looking on ebay there are several versions. Mine dates from around 2003 and has a white plastic back nut in a squared shape. The ones I am seeing online have a round back nut. Has anyone else come across this? Will the one with...

Zanussi Fridge Freezer - Worth repairing?

The fridge freezer ran very noisily for the last 24 hours and has now stopped working completely. Bearing in mind that I can buy a new basic replacement for around £250 is it going to be worth the cost of repairing the old one. Its about 8 years old and has been first class so far but I'm...

Problem with Worcester Greenstar 30CDi Gas Boiler

I would really appreciate some advice on this problem. The boiler is new, fitted only 4 months ago. The hot water works fine.
