    Taxing income from eBay etc

Stories abound about HMRC getting online selling sites to inform them of money people make so they can be taxed. I sell a few things on ebay and get a fair chunk of money, but many items sold were bought to be used, then sold second hand, so you probably won't make any profit. I suppose people...

    Range Rover insurance

A lot of people aspire to owning a Range Rover, and more people want one but don't want to pay for them, so many get nicked. Figures bandied about suggest around 90 a week are stolen in London(not sure whether central, inner or greater) mainly because the security on them is almost non existent...

Recommendations for replacement for Virgin Tivo box

After many many years of having Virgin media, time has come to change, mainly due to cost as they now want £170 a month for BB, phone and TV. The Tivo (or whatever it is called these days) is great, as you can pause and rewind TV, record 3 or 4 channels simultaneously and store loads of...

    VOIP phone number

My current land line phone is with Virgin in a package with Broadband and TV, it is done over the broadband-they plugged my existing phone into the modem. I am going to biff Virgin off as they are too expensive and going to a new provider, probably Community fibre. My question is, is my current...

    Best broadband (bang for buck)

Just had an email from Virgin, my package deal is ending next month and they will then want £157 a month from me. I keep hearing about Community fibre being good, but does anyone have any dealings with them, or can recommend anyone else? Will whoever I go with use the existing Virgin cable...

Determining the size of already installed cable

My son has just got his first flat and already has issues with a shower. Existing is 8.5kw and I'm wondering if the cable already there would be big enough for 9.5kw, cable is approximately 25mm across, and also, would the installed RCD (B50) be ok, or would an MCB be better? Can you mix and...

    Changing address on V5 logbook

Our son is moving and needs to change his address on the logbook. His new address is a flat so it's "FLAT 5, 123 Letsbe Avenue" (as an example), but the online form won't recognise flats, just a house number. Anyone done this recently and know how to get the flat number entered? He changed the...

    Books

My daughter has been selling books at bootsales and online (facebook, ebay etc). They only go for a few bob up to a couple of quid. Biggest sellers are history books, mainly Hitler, Third Reich and WW! & !!. I expect there are many who would want those kinds of books banned and burnt, ironic really.
