aye i have got my acs but i only do servicing so virtually no breakdown experience which im trying to get more of

i need to take the top of a gas hob off so that i can regrease 2 gas taps, but im unable to do this as there are 4 screws that just wont budge does any body have any helpful hints or tips that would help me remove this screws as they appear to be stuck fast thanks in advance
