any ideas y i have only luke warm water when burner is on and flames seem ok. cud it be sludge in sec h/e or thermister?

its a 500 installed in property, rather old and decrepid but it is a 500, should be able to replace with a 600

boiler removed, new fitted. broke boiler down found nothing. no manual to see if restrictor missing

Do seem to be a restriction missing, although i cannot see where it would fit, looks very basic method of operating yet cannot get it to go. real strange. :shock:

well, replaced pump, diverter valve, secondary h/e, diaphragm, flused all pipework removed and inspected all pipes that i could. Put back together and now the pin on flow switch does not operate at even on htg unless i turn off flow/return valves on boiler and then htg works until o/heat. run...

bit of a mare really, tried everything, like to know what the problem is, lost 5hrs to it so want to find out. will let you know outcome

Yes it is a wilo pump and it does have the longer shaft, this problem a challenge between me and the boiler now,its got personal but i'll win, think i'll try another pump as it the only thing inot really leaned out, main h/e seems fine and clear

had it all apart, pump seems fine and strong, chtg mode pin hits flow switch and moves easy and makes the contact, turn on tap for hw and pin drops breaking flow switch and just leaving pump running. turn off tap pin rises and htg works fine, this boiler going to end up in bin very soon :evil:

I'll give it a go, c,htg mode works fine the pin moves and makes switch fine but no movement on hot water

thanx, took it all apart flushed out all pipework and sec heat exchanger was filthy, cleared it all and still have same prob. suspect diverter valve

all contacts are being made by diverter valve plunger, pump runs. i have no manual for sequence of operation

when you say flames are lifting high as the heat exchanger do you mean all flames are lifting off the burner complete?. if so the problem is with the flue , the flue is connected properly

works fine on chtg yet turn on hot tap and pump runs, diaphragm makes yet no fan or ignition
