What are these called - I need a new one.

I was looking at the same pegler - I remember a plumber saying they were a good brand.

What are these called - I need a new one.

I used a generic photo before this is the actual valves. On the bottom one one side broken a long time ago probably by a plumber and then today we broke the other side. We are doing some diy and decided to by pass it and will disconnect it soon (and clean everything) - its a water softener...

What are these called - I need a new one.

What are the blue things that you put on the nuts to be able to turn them? I broken one and need to buy replacements it but I dont know what its called. Also, is there a best way to remove one that has both handles broken? Just WD40 and pull with pliers? I just had another look. Looks like I...

Downstairs Shower leak - pipe bitten - How to fix this?

The rat problem will be dealt with but not yet. The water pipes have been like that for 10 years. We were worried at the time but we've never had a problem. Either way it's going to be sorted over the coming weeks / 2 months. We are going to open the flooring of the whole down stairs 1/4 by 1/4...

Downstairs Shower leak - pipe bitten - How to fix this?

Seems like a hard job if lining up trap without visual. But I only half know what you mean. Do you have a link for what I need. The last pic I added shows how the flexi plastic pipe attaches to the trap. I could do rigid from the wall right up to the trap then I could I use something flexi...

Downstairs Shower leak - pipe bitten - How to fix this?

So the only way would be to remove the shower base as I have described? Im pretty sure it is but wanted to double check. The pipe is fitted to the trap and then it bends down to the wall. I dont know what the wall pipe joint is.

Downstairs Shower leak - pipe bitten - How to fix this?

We have a downstairs shower which has a plastic piping that goes attaches to the waste pipe - the builders 10 years ago should have used metal (!). We found out recently that rats have chewed this plastic and the shower drains on to the floor below the floor boards. We started smelling damp...

Bay Pole Covers not clipping in as designed.

Its about whether the company got the window size wrong or what was the mistake that led them to have to glue to covers on afterwards.

Bay Pole Covers not clipping in as designed.

FYI, they added 15mm add-on pieces to both the ends touching the wall otherwise the gap would have been too big. And a 15mm add-on to the top but thats not part of this discussion. Left frame too short or front frame too short..? I say this because has the aluminium bay adapter or coupling been...

Bay Pole Covers not clipping in as designed.

Some pics before it was finished and some with the bay pole covers attached before they were re-done and glued centrally. You can see on side doesn't quite catch the frame so now that I think about it more (wish I had months ago) it's highly likely the width of the frames. Unless someone can...

Bay Pole Covers not clipping in as designed.

I will upload photos shortly. My guess is the frames are not wide enough so the coupling between the frames has been stretched on one side so the prongs for the cover are no longer technically central and therefore the cover sits to one side. So for the cover to sit correctly is it glued into...

Bay Pole Covers not clipping in as designed.

We had a bay window replaced from wood to upvc. We noticed the bay pole covers did not clip in as designed on both sides. We've asked the company several times to explain why and for one reason and another we haven't received answer yet (still waiting). They proceeded to glue them on centrally...

What do I secure to stop plant box rocking?

I have a trellis attached to a plant box and the plant box has become loose so it rocks back and forth under wind and with trellis topples over. I thought id ask the forum geniuses how to secure the plant box so it stays a square and strong - what's the best to secure it? where and with what...

How should these holes be filled after new window fitted?

Update: The fitter says the window was measured wrong by the surveyor - says it's too big so it does not fit - gaps at top about 1-2 inches and the corners dont line up where the side windows attach the centre window (like original bay). The surveyor agreed 'on site' (I heard) but also later...

How should these holes be filled after new window fitted?

How should these holes be filled after new window fitted? The guy fitting said they would just put expanding foam in... to me these holes are too big for foam. Whats the official proper way to do it?

    Driveway Cabling Conduit?

Does anyone have a good idea where to buy or what best to use to create conduit for the broadband cables in a block paved driveway. We are going to have a shared wall built between neighbours driveways and its an opportunity to incorporate a weather proof pipe/conduit/channel of some sort that...

Cement or concrete for drive way border?

Thanks. Not a bad idea fitting a new line of paving but I would have to go slightly deeper and it was hard work getting it to this stage... and I would still have a slight lip I think. Lets see.

Cement or concrete for drive way border?

I have removed a wall that bordered our driveway from the pavement. I now want to create a secure border / mini ramp (the car can move over) but equally to secure the pavement blocks from coming loose. What should I use for this diy fix? Ready mix cement or concrete? I think concrete because...
