Sorry for the confusion everyone, the 3 wires together are 2 red and 1 black, as per the photos. What's happened now is that the toilet light is now all sorted but the bedroom ceiling light will not switch on.... Its the room next to the toilet. So the problem obviously lies with the 2 red...

I took the old bulb holder out hoping to replace with a new flush light fitting, but I do not see an earth wire. To be honest , the wiring is probably over 50 yrs old! As I cannot use the metal fitting I bought, I would just like to fit a new batten holder, but I have no idea where the wires go...

Thanks Tony, I bought the spare switch for around £8 from the biasi spares website, and managed to replace the old broken one, following your instructions. Thank you so much! :D

No electrician wants to take on the job to fix my ceiling light, so I need some advice please on how to do it myself! Long story short, I need to join back the cut ends (core wires? Neutral and live) back together after a friend (electrician) cut the flex which feeds power to one of the ceiling...

a candle bulb has blown in my 5 light chandelier, but it seems to have fused itself inside the lamp'holder'. i twisted it until the bulb actually broke off, and now im still left with the metal base stuck inside! will an electrician be bothered to fix such a thing? :oops: cheers!

yes i've done something silly- i've replaced 2 hall switches and of course something's gone wrong. upstairs hall light switch=1 way switch works fine on and off but does not swich OFF when switched ON from downstairs. downstairs hall light switch=2 way switch which works fine for...
