    Battery query

The battery (if new) is almost certainly fine if it was installed a week before you went away. Average life is expected to be 5 years (dependant on use). There is a good chance though that when the battery was connected the sudden rush of current initially requested by the battery to charge...

    Alarm Battery Question

Yes in theory, although unless very discharged the current drawn from the battery should remain the same. Remember testing load from battery when mains is off is only giving the current drawn, if you want to calculate how long that will last you need to know the current capacity of the...

Texecom veritas excel audible power lo alert

I also couldn't see anything in the manual to stop this, many panels you can't as it's a EN requirement, hence your old panel didn't do it.

    Scantronic 9851 Issue

Without entering engineers mode you cannot isolate/disable this zone. Since this is the front door contact this will start the entry timer, which will also inhibit any other sensors on the entry route to the keypad. Since you say you don't use the alarm, you don't need to do anything to...

    G4 Problem

IntelliSense CK-IS215, only seen it once, but it was enough. I've also had a 500mA fuse show 80ohms, so had 13.8vdc one side and about 1.5vdc at the sensor.

Best way to turn off wireless on Yale HSA 6400 alarm

The issue of 2 different units on different frequencies affecting each other is actually quite a simple concept. The first is what is known as bleed over, which is when either the transmitter is not tuned to or more likely the receiver is able to receive more of the bandwidth than it should...

    G4 Problem

That just sounds like a typical "We just think you should spend more money with us". I would (as suggested) test what is drawing to much current, battery, sensor, BELL. Just replacing the panel without testing could be an expensive waste of time. I have had a PIR draw 1.83A without...

    Replacement for a Securit 700l

Not a full engineers manual. The engineers manuals are available from the internet, other engineers or orderable from Honeywell.

    Replacement for a Securit 700l

Galaxy panels come with full user instructions, and a quick engineering set up guide. The full engineers manual for a G2, G3 or Dimension is 90 odd pages, the older variant where over a hundred. Whats the point? If I install 5 G2's a week I have 5 engineer manuals. I'd say this was a...

CCTV Cameras Interference when cameras powered by same PSU

I would never use the same PSU for the cameras and DVR, for a start if someone chops the cable or shorts it you lose the lot. Then you've got current capacity issues. Best practice is not to send power down the Cat5 along with signal as this can effect the video although over these short...

    Replacement for a Securit 700l

2 different ways, key fobs are presented to the RKP to disarm. RF (wireless) fobs will work even outside the property however requires an RF Portal, range obviously depends on location of RF portals (up to 2 can be fitted)

Best way to turn off wireless on Yale HSA 6400 alarm

Class 5 & 6 systems aren't as easy for the opportunist to jam, but then if your level of security in high enough for a jam then you shouldn't be installing RF kit. I'm not entirely sure what class the Yale stuff is, but I'm guessing Class 2 or 3?

Honeywell Galaxy Wireless -Best on the Market?

Got to admit I'm a Galaxy man thru and thru but was disappointed with their RF range, but I really like the sound of the concept of Texecom kit, have seen the promo stuff but never installed/maintained.

    Texecom Excel install problem

Well I suppose so, but realistically how long does it take to install resistors? Surely no quicker that changing jumpers? If they supply resistors with the panels like most manufacturers do.

CCTV Cameras Interference when cameras powered by same PSU

Have you sent power down the Cat5 with the video? Using the same power supply for the DVR and cameras is not a good idea. Are you using a switch mode PSU for the cameras? How long are the runs? I'm assuming short? Do they run with mains or passed switched mode supplies? AC or DC ...

It really depends on the tolerances of the panel really.

Quad are dual element PIR's rather than Microwave and PIR so are essentially looking at the same area for infra red heat movement.

    Help gardtec 593

Possibly the detector has locked up. Take battery out of sensor, use a screwdriver to short the battery terminals on the detector, this discharges the capacitors on the detector forcing it to restart when the battery is replaced.
