    S Plan Help

Hi there, I have a system boiler set up as S-Plan, with two 2-port motorised valves. If I move the lever for the CH motorised valve to the open position, should the boiler fire up even if the programmer has the CH off?

Moving Toilet, but soil stack is solvent welded

I want to move the toilet in my first floor bathroom and having stripped everything out, I have found out that the soil stack is solvent welded, so I cannot just spin the soil pipe around 180 degrees. What is the best way of replacing it with a push fit? Will I need to expose and cut out the...

Scantronic i-on40 Battery / Mains Fail

I have a question about a Scantronic i-on40. A recent mains fail caused the alarm to reboot. The battery did not do its job to keep the alarm running. I measured the battery voltage and it was 13.6V off-load and when I remove the mains fuse, the battery is still 13.6V. Could the battery be...

    TRV Cap - Nothing Fits

I am doing some decorating and I want to cap off my TRVs. However, a 1/2" cap is too small and 3/4" is too big. The thread seems finer than BSP. I have attached some photographs, so hopefully you might be able to help me find the correct cap to use.

    Hotpoint FF200L Fridge Freezer Issue

I have a Hotpoint FF200L but the fridge is not going cold. I notice that the damper in the fridge is not opening by itself even on the self-test. I replaced it but it still is not opening. However, if I lift the damper flap, the piston comes out and holds the flap open. It seems as though...

    Scantonic i-on40 Software Upgrade Craziness

I upgraded my i-on40 to v4.05.04 recently only for v4.05.05 to be released. No idea what the changes made to it were, but for safety, I upgraded again. I look again today and I find that a new version v4.05.06 has been released! What is going on? What does this change bring? Come on...

Bell Box Internal or External Battery

I have replaced my bell box. There is a link which selects between internal or external battery, If I select external battery, and run it off the main alarm panel, is this okay? My thinking is that no one will be able to get to the bell box cable to cut it, as it is buried in the walls...

    Scantronic XCELRPT Conversion

My dog died and I was wondering whether I can modify my Scantronic XCELRPT to be XCELR and get the increased protection that they provide over the pet friendly sensors. Is this possible? On a related note, why do the radio XCELR devices not shine a red light when you walk underneath them...

    Scantronic i-on40 Speech Dialler

Hi there Does anyone know whether I can use the i-sd01 speech dialler on the i-on40 alarm panel? It is cheaper and I just wanted to check whether it will work instead of the more expensive i-sd02.

Scantronic I-on40 and two Final Exits

Hi there I am thinking about purchasing and installing the Scantronic I-on40 alarm system. I intend to fit a PIR in my Hall as the entry route and a proximity sensor on my front door as my Final Exit. However, as I also use my back door to leave the property, could I have a second Final...

Low Pressure from Surrey Flange to Power Shower

Hi there I have a power shower fitted and it has been working fine for many months. A few weeks ago there was poor flow of hot water. I was advised to change the Aqualisa grey cartridge, which unfortunately did not fix the problem. I was then advised to change the twin impeller pump...

    Fitting Pop-Up Waste to basin

I bought a pop-up waste unit to fit into the bathroom sink. I got the old one out and cleaned up the sink and fitted the new one with the new rubber seals. Problem - water drips out of the bottom seal and into the vanity unit!!! Do I need to apply any special substances to stop the leak...

    Tap leaking

Water is leaking down the back of the mixer taps through the sink hole that the taps fit in. I cannot tighten the brass nut up enough to prevent leakage. My taps are soldered in and I can lift them about 5mm. Should I squeeze some bathroom sealant underneath the taps before tightening the nut?
