Just lifted part of the floor in order to put new pipework in for a radiator. Noticed no foam or insulation. While boards are up is it worth putting some wool between joists or something else? Am on second floor of 3 storey building so be good to improve the sound insulation too. Will be...

    refurbishing kitchen doors?

The kitchen cabinet doors are in very bad shape as the vinyl is peeling off them. I noticed that the MDF underneath is in good shape. Is it feasible to spray paint them? I assume it would need to be done with air compressor rather than small cans? Is it feasible?

    Peeling plaster kitchen window

I have a problem with the plaster and decor around the kitchen window in a second floor apartment. It's double skin block and about 25 years old. It's not especially damp but then we have had a lot of dry weather recently. Photos show just after I have peeled off all the worst of the plaster...

    Window opening/closure systems

I’ve got this basement flat with light wells and currently the small windows have a catch which allows easy closure but not opening! It’s necessary to use a stick to push it open or get on a chair and into the lightwell itself. Must be a better solution?

I'm trying to hang a coat rack on a lime wall. I have thick granite walls with lime plaster about 2 inches think but it varies. Using ordinary masonry plugs, the screws just work loose. Someone said using epoxy is the answer but all I can find is heavy duty anchors for exterior. Any ideas? What...
