    Kitchen unit identification

Anyone know what kitchens the house builder William Davis used about 5 years ago? Have a blown unit under the sink that needs replacing. Can't see anything on any the cabinets/plinths /shelves themselves just the hinges and draws. I'm assuming a B&Q one should be OK? Cheers.

    Candy ro16104dwmce not spinning

Hi. I have a Candy ro16104dwmce that happily spins at full speed when empty but just turns slowly with anything in it. I'm assuming some sort of wonky load sensor fault. Any idea where to look or if it's user serviceable? Cheers

    Sliding door threshold

Hi. After ideas to fill this gap between sliding door and slot drain. 65mm deep 25mm wide. 5m long. Black or anthracite grey. Strange wood burner problem.

Hi. Had a wood burner that has been working fine for years. Today I lit it and smoke just blew into the room. Put it out and could feel a noticeable draft coming down the chimney with the door open. Put my thinking cap on and the only thing different was the loft door was open as had been...

    DIY Solar PV in theory

Energy prices are going crazy so I've been looking at DIY Solar PV. It seems a bit of a no brainer. You buy a grid tied kit. Fill out a G98 form and send to the DNO (if under 3.6Kw), I think DNO things get complicated after that. Get it installed (as per regs/etc) connect up to a spare way in...

    National tile shortage?

How difficult is it to buy some tiles? The online places that say they do have stock then don't as soon as you order! :-( Any local builders merchants don't sell them. Brexit? Covid? I'm off to go look for some rocking horse poo.

New windows. No window cill horns

Hi. I'm installing new windows that don't have cill horns so will need to adjust the brickwork. I know the "proper" way is to totally remove the brick but I can never get the mortar a similar colour and my bricklaying skills are terrible and I just seem to get most of the mortar on the brick...

Hi. Planning or replacing guttering and I have two small sections of roof that currently DO have guttering, but I was planning on just removing it. The bottom section also has a chimney so it's even smaller than the top. Longest edge is about 2.5m. Cheers

    EV Charger 100A Looped Supply

Hi. Planning on speaking to the DNO tomorrow just wondered if anyone has any experiences of having a looped supply AND a 100A service fuse? I've googled about but cant seem to find if the installer would want a dedicated supply to install a 7KW charger. All the examples I can see is with a...

    Hot water temperature

Hi. Am I right in thinking that the thermostat in the photos should control the temperate of the hot water? Because it doesn't seem to make any difference what ever it is set to. The water is very hot all the time. Thanks

Hi. I'm planning on cutting down an oak veneered door to fit under under stairs doorframe. The hope is to be able to cut out the bottom rail and "graft" back in. Any tips/hints/tricks? Or should I give up now and just make a straight cut along the bottom? Plan A in red. Plan B in blue...
