Vaillant EcoTec 637 pressure high after pump change

Had an Vaillant engineer over a couple of days ago to replace a leaking pump. When the heating is off the pressure is around 1 bar, when it’s on it climbs to 2.8 bar, which is much higher than I’ve ever seen. He tested the expansion vessel when he was here and checked it again today and it’s...

    Filler cracking in structural columns

Hi Everyone, I have an old property which has an integral portico, with 3 pitch-pine columns supporting the structure above. I commissioned a structural engineer to inspect the portico and he is very happy with the condition of the columns and has given me a report to confirm. There are some...

Thanks, we have an external expansion vessel to support this large system. System seems to be running normally aside from this blip.

Valiant ecotec 637 pressure sensor playing up?

checked the pressure on the boiler after it had been off all day and it was showing 0.6 bar with the maintenance symbol flashing. Opened the 2 valves on the filling loop for like less than a second and it shot up to 1.1 bar where it’s sat for the past few hours. Honestly the tiniest amount of...

New table saw for around £500?

I'm looking to invest in a a new mid-range table saw and stand for around 500 quid. My research has narrowed it down to the: Dewalt D745 or Bosch GTS 10 J Both seem to be well reviewed with solid fence mechanisms. Does anyone have any views on these saws? Would you recommend anything...

    Buteline.

I've also had a few leaks from Buteline since we did a massive install. It's strange, because we pressure-tested the system beforehand as per their recommendations and it passed. Nevertheless just a few months later several of their fittings started to weep. The fittings come with a clamp ring...

LG Tumble Dryer Condenser - How to access drain pump?

I've got an LG Sensor Dry 8kg RC8015C tumble dryer which has stopped draining the water into the tray. I suspect that either the drain pump is knackered or the pipe leading from the pump is blocked but I can't work out how to access it. I think this is the part I need if the pump is knackered...

Plumber leaves for parts / tool

Basically he accepted a quote of £260 plus labour to repair a leak under the sink, which from the pictures looked like a 15 minutes repair.

Plumber leaves for parts / tool

I had a feeling the threads were connected. Weird. Did you pay by credit card? If so don’t let them back in, and make a section 75 claim to your credit card provider. Then get a recommendation for a plumber from someone you trust. Or learn to do it yourself.

    Can’t fit pipe slice

I always assumed the pipe slices marketed as mini were for 10mm pipe? Hard to see how they can get much smaller than they are.

    Can’t fit pipe slice

It’s not just the deburring that’s the problem with the multi-tool. These things are very powerful and unless the pipe is properly secured will send vibrations throughout the pipework. Who knows if there’s a dodgy joint waiting for an excuse to fail. I use the multi-tool for ripping out old...

    Can’t fit pipe slice

I wouldn’t use the multi tool option. Sure it’ll cut it but you’ll be left with a bit of a mess of a pipe.
