Got the same ikea vanity unit, you need a 32mm McAlphine adaptor to connect to both pipes (Screwfix 68742)

Reguarding the Temp dial spinning, Thats broke so a new control pcb will be required. Reguarding the hot water issue your cylinder will be heated by immersion heaters, The chances are the bottom one has tripped or failed.
