    Decimalisation

Following a comment by someone on another thread: Who uses metric measurement and who has stuck with imperial. A few years ago I could quite happily switch between the two depending on who I was talking to, but now when someone gives me some measurements in imperial (at least once a week) it...

    Hijacked favourites

There is a problem on my son's pc. It has win xp home, IE version 7. Some of his favourites work ok, others, including his google homepage, take a long time then come up with unwanted sites, mostly gaming sites. I ran anti-spyware, anti-virus, cleared caches. Anything else to try?

    Luder-F virus

My son's pc, running xp home, is infected with this virus. I have used avast, adaware and spybot but it keeps coming back, and in trying to eradicate it I have messed up loads of .exe files so some programmes no longer work. I'm wondering if the best thing I can do is to format the disc and...

Yesterday I was phoning round to get quotes for renewing our business insurance, we have workshops in North Derbyshire. I was surprised when one company took the postcode and then said that they couldn't insure us as we were in a flood risk area. We have been here 7 years and I have never heard...

    Mothers

My mum told me today that she thinks there is something wrong with her car. When I asked why she told me that when she was going up the motorway the other day at 70mph, the rev counter was pointing to 6500, just on the red line, so she slowed down to 60mph. When she was making the return trip...

    joke

You are driving in a car at a constant speed. On your left side is the edge of a vertical drop and on your right side is a fire engine traveling at the same speed as you. In front of you is a galloping pig which is the same size as your car and you cannot overtake it. Behind you is a...

    txting

I can't stand texting, my fingers are much too big for those tiny buttons. I just downloaded some software to allow texting from pc. It cost me 10 euros (£6.90) for 100 texts credit. Works a treat. Sent a text from pc to my own phone and it took 1 second to arrive.
