Can I use linseed oil as a primer on my window for linseed oil window putty? I read that an oil-based primer must be used with putty to stop the dry wood sucking out the oil in the putty. If I just neatly wiped the window frame with a smear of linseed oil, would this work? Many thanks. Brian
