    Opening up a bricked up fire help

    Hi all. Got a 1930s house and looking to open up the brickwork of the fire after its been patched in. But I'm unsure how far down the original fireplace goes. Anybody got an idea? The front bottom bit around the bottom is definitely patched in... but I'm sure about the bit above there going up...

    Repairing/replacing smashed brick on front of property

    About to buy a house and the vendors have removed a camera which has smashed around a third of the brick. Its very noticeable. Is this hard or costly to repair? Or a fairly simple job?

    Rebuilding a detached garage

    Whats the general cost on rebuilding like this? Probably around 3x7m. The general garage is tatty, has lost a few tiles and has some plants coming through the roof, not sure its salvageable.

    Some on here will have a far better understanding than I ever will. Any thoughts on this? 1. A degree of deflection/misalignment was apparent to the roof slopes, with misalignment noted around the side-facing eaves, and with “roof-spread” related movement considered a contributory factor...

    Cracks in interior walls of property i want to buy

    In an old house (1930s). So I expect some things like this, but just wondering how serious they are. First few pictures is a landing wall around a window. The other ones seem to be on plasterboard/partition walls between the bedrooms which is where the final picture is taken. Any thoughts...

    Looked at a house with no building regs in loft conversion

    I know this isnt exactly an uncommon thing. However, theres stairs up to the conversion from the landing without any sort of fire door etc. Is it advisable to try and buy a property like this or is it a minefield in terms of structural issues and purposely not attempted to be signed off.
