Is it safe to cut a bit off this stringer?

I want to put some trim along the top of tuis stringer, but this part has 3 sections and it would look better and be easier if I reduced it to two sections. Is it safe to trim the part above the green tape off the top of the stringer? It would be up to 8mm at most.

I put yellow grit on my wall and a layer of bonding on the lower half to level it (it curved) . I PVA’d the wall next day 2:1, twice then did a couple of coats of multifinish. The section over the bonding bubbled alot after the 2nd coat, and I had to wait ages to get rid of the bubbles at all...

I opened up this double switch to add an earth wire from backbox to faceplate, and a wire came loose , the one I’ve highlighted in pink. Do my metal faceplates need earthing?

I’ve got metal faceplates on all my light switches and after taking a few off to decorate, it looks like none of them are earthed even though there is a place to attach a wire. There are some earth wires in the back boxes. Some back boxes are plastic, and some are metal. I don’t think the metal...

I just had a couple of radiators moved and pipework chased into the block a bit. A section of the dot and dabbed plasterboard has been removed. I have a combi boiler that has no mag filter and the heat exchanger is getting full of crap from the system, which is costing me money (about £130) to get cleaned every year. I had a couple of plumbers round, one said he could fit mag filter for £300, which I assume would be on the flow, since...
