I think you have to disconnect everything from the locking module and leave it half hour or so before plugging it all back in

Steering wheel off, cowling off, and a good puller will probably be needed to get the bush off the steering column. Then you need to get the steering lock off (shear bolts) and slide the lock off the column to get to the one, measly, stupidlly placed screw in order to change the switch.

Sounds like the solenoid on the starter sticking to me. You can take them off and clean them up, maybe put a small smear of copper grease on the plunger too

The light may also double up as a coolant level warning, so would check that first.

Quite common for the timing chain to stretch on these, so be prepared for a hefty bill :cry:

im pretty sure there is a control box under the dashboard which if you unplug for half hour or so resets the system. There is a guide on it here somewhere, so do a search for ford central locking

gsfcarparts.com will have the parts you need at a fraction of the main dealer price. I'd get a complete wishbone rather than sod around pushing in new bushes.

coolant temp sensor first, then if that doesnt fix it you'll be looking at a dirty throttle body

might be worth doing a quick compression test to rule out any bad stuff. After that i'd be looking at maybe a plug or lead breaking down, not sure if yours has seperate coils or if it's distributor driven.

i'd suggest getting a genuine temp sender as most of the aftermarket ones don't seem to last too long. Genuine one is around £20 with the Vat

why would the hydraulic side need bleeding from just changing the discs and pads? Oh yeah i forgot, you were screwing around undoing bleed nipples........

is it the original stereo or an aftermarket one?
