    Wiring in sheds

Thanks for the sensible replies guys! That's a mis-quote the News of the World would be proud of. The landlord is going to pay for the 'connecting up', as for putting the cables in place, that's down to me. Would prefer not to pay £50 h/r for an electrician to either dig a trench in the...

    Attention garage owners

Look out on ebay / amazon for a book called "fundamentals of motor vehicle technology" and you'll learn all the tech stuff you'll ever need. As for getting 'work' in a garage you just have to do some door knocking, but without any qualifications I think you'll struggle to find anyone who'll...

    Wiring in sheds

Care to explain how? All I asked for was advice on what to buy and how is the prefered way to route the cabling so I don't have to pay electrician rates to roll out and secure some cabling. Didn't say I was going to plumb it in myself. All he has done is possibly saved me buying the wrong...

    Ford Focus problems

I think you have to disconnect everything from the locking module and leave it half hour or so before plugging it all back in

    VW Bora ignition switch

Steering wheel off, cowling off, and a good puller will probably be needed to get the bush off the steering column. Then you need to get the steering lock off (shear bolts) and slide the lock off the column to get to the one, measly, stupidlly placed screw in order to change the switch.

Micra K12 - wont start when warm?

Sounds like the solenoid on the starter sticking to me. You can take them off and clean them up, maybe put a small smear of copper grease on the plunger too

The light may also double up as a coolant level warning, so would check that first.

    Wiring in sheds

Hi all, Currently living in a rented house and need to get some electric down to the 2 sheds in the garden. Currently using a damn long extension lead on an rcd plug. The landlord is going to pay for his electrician to connect everything up, but i said i would get the cable, sockets, lights...

2005 mondeo 155 tdci central locking issue

There is no point trying to argue with the stealers on stuff like this. Go straight to vauxhall uk and take it up with them

VW POLO 2003 1.2 Advisory items during MOT

gsfcarparts.com will have the parts you need at a fraction of the main dealer price. I'd get a complete wishbone rather than sod around pushing in new bushes.

1999 T reg Golf 1.4S Intermittent Starting fault

coolant temp sensor first, then if that doesnt fix it you'll be looking at a dirty throttle body

    fiat punto 1994 headgasket

might be worth doing a quick compression test to rule out any bad stuff. After that i'd be looking at maybe a plug or lead breaking down, not sure if yours has seperate coils or if it's distributor driven.

VW POLO 2003 1198CC Petrol Engine Light On

i'd suggest getting a genuine temp sender as most of the aftermarket ones don't seem to last too long. Genuine one is around £20 with the Vat
