Electrics out after using circ saw

You cant just go increasing the fuse size like that! It was a 5amp fuse for a reason, probably it is protecting the lighting circuits in the garage. 13A may be too much for the wiring. Put a 5amp fuse back in there.

    Which internal socket?

Ah, no picture. Do you mean size, or side? Are you extending the ring - that means two cables - or running a spur? please reply to my earlier query

    Which internal socket?

Possibly right. Hopefully you have some of the minor bits and pieces that any DIYer should have I'd add screws, wall plugs. Just Easyfil for making good. You dont need PVA & bonding Doesnt really matter is single or double pole 25mm box are too shallow for many sockets plus wires. Go for...

    Downlight Wiring

Firstly, there’s no chance of overloading if you are using LED lamps and standard 1mm cable. Secondly, your understanding that: “ downlight radial goes from one point to the next (whereas a socket radial can spur off in multiple directions” is wrong. For this you do not need to go from one to...

Which tool to chase walls for wiring (Ed.)

In an empty house, use a wall chaser or an angle grinder. But the dust created will be horrendous. You’ll blunt a multi tool blade after you’ve gone 6 inches. If it’s only one chase, get a wide blade mortar chisel like this and get hammering!

Advice on buying a smoke alarm.

Only one tested in action. Customer with integrated garage that caught on fire. The house was totalled and had to be rebuilt. but they all got out.

Advice on buying a smoke alarm.

Have you had a fire though? That's the only time that you can recommend any product. I always laugh when I buy insurance from Meerkat, etc and then am asked to give a review on TrustPilot etc. Pointless. The time to recommend is when the product has been tested, in action. I have...

Kitchen LED's Not Working. New Junction Box/Re-Wire?

AH. That one has a DC output. The wall wart in the picture is an AC output. Is the one in the picture the original one? All the Hafele drivers on the web are DC output. Output of that power supply should be 12v AC. Make sure that your meter is on the AC, not the DC V range.

    New Wiring

Indeed. With respect, you do not appear to have the skill, knowledge or equipment to carry out what is a heart & lung replacement for your house. The work has to be CERTIFIED to BS7671 standards & NOTIFIED as conforming to building regulations. Without this you’ll have reall problems when you...

Best way to feed electric to this shed inlet?

Then I suggest you extend the 10mm radial so it feeds the garage and the shed.

Best way to feed electric to this shed inlet?

Why are you extending RING? A radial circuit is normally all that is needed, unless you have a high load..

    Bathroom lighting layout and extractor

If the ceiling is down then ditch those big hole cover things and buy some smaller downlights. Position lights where they will light up you. Eg. One over the batth/shower, over the bog. One over the sink, it needs to light your FACE, unless you have an illuminated mirror. One more to light...

    Moving Gas Earth-Bonding Cable

The "G" in GN8 stands for guidance. Its not a regulation. You'll find similar things in the On Site GUIDE. Helpfully, OSG (and I think the Guidance Notes) actually print any relevant regulation reference next to the guidance text.

    Shed/workshop replacement

Then demolish the old and put up a new one, using the existing power. It's an existing circuit. If you want to change the power feed to SWA, etc. I echo @EFLImpudence comment

Ok to add socket for microwave?

Making do will be throwing money away. Sooner or later an inspection will note that the basic enclosure does not meet the current regulations. Right now, some inspectors will note it as C3 "needs improvement". Some will mark it as C2 (means that something on your installation is potentially...
