hi the dimmer is a single 400w 2 way mains dimmer switch i dont know the load, its a main room light

Fitted a two way dimmer switch and the unit is working, well the light comes on. Problems 1 the light flickers alot, 2 Light does not go anyway near as bright as before the dimmer was added 3 The dimmer switch buzz's when on Where have i gone wrong and how do i fix it Thanks lee
