    Danfoss CP715 - Why?

Could anyone please explain to me why you wouldn't want, or can't have hot water and heating programmed to come on at separate times? This is in relation to a Danfoss CP715 programmer I have come across where of course you can't have separate programmed times for the heating and hot water...

    3 Port Valve Wiring Query

What is the purpose of sending 240v to terminal 2 of the cylinder stat when using a 3 port valve? The valve is getting its 240v direct from the programmer HW off so what is the reason for sending it to the cylinder stat too? Thanks.

    Glow Worm Boiler Timer

Good evening all. Is it acceptable to install a simple timer that just switches the power on / off to the boiler that controls the central heating? I'm not sure of the model number but it doesn't have an integral or external timer or external stat fitted anywhere so heating has to be...

    Megaflo Y Plan query

What does sending 230v to terminal 3 of the Megaflo thermal control panel from DHW off actually do? If call for DHW is satisfied then 230v goes to the 3 port - understood, and the 230v is removed from the 2 port so boiler not on. Can't see what the thermal controls are doing at this stage.

    Vailant ecoTEC 630 Wiring Question

    My First TT

Went to a job today to install an extra socket. System is TT and I've not worked on these before so just wanted to check my assumptions. A quick Zs at an existing socket before starting work gave me 284 ohms, carrying on testing (using method 2 for earth electrode testing) it seems as if the...

    CU Upgrade and Storage Heaters

Just a question regarding the best set up for new CU's when storage heaters are still in use. The existing set up is the standard two Wylex boards, one for storage heaters one for rest of property. Would you fit two new CU's and also an isolator up front for the whole installation or is...

    MWC or EIC?

If replacing a 32A MCB with a 32A 30mA RCBO for a ring final for additional protection would this require and EIC or just MWC? Think I know the answer but just canvassing some opinions!

    Okay to use flex?

Is it okay to use black rubber flex to feed an outside light? Flex would be wired into an IP56 junction box taking it's feed from a SFCU inside from the lounge ring, so junction box is about 1.2m from the ground, need to run up from this and about 6 metres along the wall to the light. 1mm...

GU10 Spots in Place of LV DL

Evening all. Just wondering if anyone could advise what the implications could be (if any) of replacing 3 LV downlights with 3 sets of 3xGU10 surface mounted spots. The current recessed LV downlights flicker which I presume is either due to the dimmer switch not handling the load or the...
