    Use of external stop valve

If external stop valve doesn't affect any other properties, then it fine for you to use it as you wish.

Wetroom - tapping into soil stack low down

They aren't my first choice of fittings as the reduction in bore is never ideal, but if their use cannot be avoided then needs must. Any joint has the potential to leak, but given you have no control over discharges from above, and have someone below, then leaks are best avoided! Other option...

Waste pipe - drilling and connecting question

One tip to avoid blowing the face off the brick, is to drill a pilot hole all the way through with a small drill bit, then core through the wall from either side, using small hole as your guide. Both sides should line up then!

    Toilet leaking under floor

Longer you leave it, the worse it will get. Sewage 'matures' if sitting will got septic, if liquid has soaked away, solid matter will start to decompose. Most Plumbers will have a strong enough stomach to deal with this sort of thing. (It's the Gas People you have to worry about.)

Waste pipe - drilling and connecting question

I would be looking at coming through the wall above the existing soil branch. Trying to get a hole cored through in exactly the right place to get a horizontal connection into the Boss will be extremely difficult I think. My worry is, if there's any stress on the Boss Adaptor, especially in the...

Wetroom - tapping into soil stack low down

You are seriously going to struggle to do anything with that I think. Main issue is, you've only got the socket available immediately above the floor and the Fire Collar, so nothing to attack to externally. The only thing I can suggest that might work, is a McAlpine DC-1 with Boss, cut the...

    Drainage grate for boots

Buy a Boot washing station, such as this. https://bestanimalbedding.co.uk/products/boot-wash-station Cut an appropriate size hole in boot wash, use a 40mm Tank Connector to run a waste to the drain.

Help please - kitchen waste pipe. Which extra fittings required?

Solvent weld, 40mm waste. Should be standard sizing across all the manufacturers. If confident using Solvent weld, then cut the pipe immediately above the socket fitting currently at the bottom of the pipe. Clean off paint wire wire wool or sandpaper to get back to clean plastic. I'd use a...

    What’s wrong with this DRIVEWAY

Where did you find this Company? Quality of work is questionable, if you've paid them then I rather suspect that will be the last you see of them and your money. Edit, having read the other Thread my suspicions are confirmed. Afraid you've been completely ripped off. Trying to get any come...

    Klargester keeps tripping RCD

I wouldn't want to argue, assuming they've tested everything, then it's quite possible. Would suspect the Capacitor is fitted to these things to help with the start up current, when the drive is restarted after power failure or switch off for servicing etc.

    Flooded garden

I am wondering if the cast pipes predate the property, any idea what, if anything, was on the site before? Also possibly there is a natural spring that someone tapped into in the past to feed something else, hence the pipework. Also have Severn Trent tested this water to see if it is mains (tap)...

Drain inspection / collapsed drain help

If definitely shared, then Water Company should take responsibility. Speak to them, and ask for someone to come out and look. They will either sort it out or advise, if it does fall to you to sort it out, then they will advise as such, and tell you to get someone in to repair. Would strongly...

can i change existing downpipe to a soil stack or would a long connection to an existing soil stack be better

Rainwater will still need to be kept separate above ground, other the rainwater pipework will act as a vent for the soil stack. If the existing rainwater downpipe goes into a combined sewer, then this should be ok to connect a new stack into to serve the proposed en suite. You would then also...

    Klargester keeps tripping RCD

What electrical components have you got? Just the motor driving the Disc's, a control box as well for the unit and/or pump(s)?

Gully inside conservatory often blocked, can it be removed?

Finned end goes inside the existing pipe, socket on other end allows you to continue in 110mm pipe. https://www.screwfix.com/p/mcalpine-push-fit-single-socket-drain-connector-black-110mm/4255v

Gully inside conservatory often blocked, can it be removed?

If you can chop away enough concrete to actually get to the pipe, without it cracking, then a McAlpine DC-1 will fit, finned end into existing drain, and 110mm from that as you require.

    Clicking stack

Stack from upstairs bathroom in my Parents house always clicked, didnt even need hot water, flushing the WC used to set it off. Drops down right in the corner of the Hallway too, next to the front door. Never did work out why it did it, think it's stopped now they've changed the WC.

Capped 15mm gas pipe stub, in a strange location

Can only think the Installer was asked to fit it for some future proposed gas requirement, that never materialised.

Can I add a new bathroom a distance away from SVP?

If new WC is to go the other side of the wall from the chamber, then a suitable connection into the chamber will suffice. Needs to be done to allow smooth flow of discharge through the chamber to prevent solids building up on the benching, but provided the distance from the invert of the drain...

    Flooded garden

I have never heard of or come across anything like that in 35 years of working in and around drains. I think Harry may be onto something in #15, it has all the hallmarks of someone putting in their own DIY system using what they had available, in an attempt to drain a (very) wet plot...
