I want to put three cables in 20 mm round conduit. Two of them are 2.5 T&E, and the other is 1.5 T&E. Needless to mention, the space is very tight. The guy in my local electrical supply shop said that I would be able to do this if the cables are straight, and taped at regular intervals.

I was wondering if there would be any problems with regard to heat generation and dissipation? The conduit run will be about 3 feet, and the 2.5 T&E will pull at most 2.5 KW.

Thanks,
Bothy

round conduit is not desigend for t & e cable, you are supposed to use 40% of the conduits capacity, the remainder being free air for cirulation / cooling.

so the answer is you are not supposed to do as you suggest

Thanks breezer -I've just discovered that the three cables wouldn't get past a male conduit adapter anyway.

Use singles.....

dont think so. i bet you this is just a short run, or drop. if singles were to be used the whole job would have to be in conduit
