Looking for a washing machine hose connector. There's a screw attachment on the existing trap with a blanking plug and nut.

    Blanking plug:

    • outer diameter: 39mm
    • inner diameter: 31mm
    Nut:

    • outer diameter: 52mm
    • inner diameter: 46mm
    • side which blanking slots into: 39mm
I'm struggling to find a hose connector that fits. Previous owners left a McAlpine WMF3, which is too big (1½"). Also tried a FloPlast Hose Connector, which is also no good (40mm/1½").

As a last resort, I've got a new trap (McAlpine WM11), but am unable to unscrew the waste pipe, neither by hand nor with some WD40 and pliers. Perhaps some plumbers putty was previously applied.

Any suggestions here? Easiest solution seems to be a new hose connector. Anyone familiar with one of that size?

The trap should unscrew from the rigid waste pipe quite easily ,are you sure you are turning the white nut the correct way ?

Post a photo of the parts you are talking about. Include a measure or ruler to show scale.

Wondering if you're trying to connect to 32mm (1&1/4") waste, although unusual to find a 32mm trap with an additional connection. What is the OD of the waste pipe leading away from the appliance, and in fact, what is the trap currently connected to?
