Hi all

I’m planning to lay a porcelain patio but I’d like to edge it flush in granite. I can’t seem to figure out how to do it and wondered if you could advise.

I’m laying a 20mm porcelain slab on a 40mm bed of mortar on a 100mm bed of type 1. I really like sawn granite setts - I think the sharp edges work well with the crisp porcelain. But they seem to come in 50mm or 75mm depths.

Do I go with the 50mm and only have 10mm of mortar?

Are there other options?
- do I cut the 20mm granite paving stones (e.g. 900x600)?
- do I use 20mm granite slips (which I can’t seem to find anywhere online but I see a few people use on YouTube.

Thanks all.

Pretty sure you are meant to dig out the sub base so that you can get the required thickness of bed.
