All,
I am doing a bathroom remodel in which I am swapping a shower pan. The new shower pan has the drain hole in a different location than the original. The bathroom floor is in a concrete slab, so it would be difficult to move.
I believe my options are to either break up enough slab to move the drain pipe or to build a frame for the shower pan, essentially making the shower a "step up" and then running the pipe to the new location above the slab.
I like the idea of the latter because it seems like less work, but I have no direct experience in either. Could someone provide guidance on what approach might be more appropriate?
Thanks,
~ Paul
