Does anyone have any experiences (good or bad) of traditional range cookers like AGA, Rayburn, Esse, Redfyre, Sandyford, Heritage, Alpha etc? (Oil fired)

We are looking for a rangecooker which does central heating aswell (100,000 btus) ideally with an electric bolt-on ceramic hob/oven for the summer months.

We looked at AGAs and apart from being very expensive they offer very little functionality ie no heating. Virtually none of the makes do oil condensing boilers despite the law changing next year.

We are looking to site it in our kichen (obviously) but are they noisy and/or can you smell the oil?

I'd be interested in your views.

I'm no expert, but I believe that AGA's can heat your house. They can certainly provide hot water.
