Air Con/Blower Problem

I have a Ford Focus 1.8 TDCi LX. 60000 miles, 52 plate.

I've just got the car, and having had focus's in the past, this one seems a bit different.

The air coming out of the blowers under the windscreen is really cold, even on a warm day, and the air con button is not on.

When the air con is on, the car does gets colder.

Could my air con by on even though the button is off.

My MPG is not that good for a diesel. It's recently been serviced, this hasn't improved ecomomy. Time for a tune perhaps.

Any ideas.

what about every where else does it blow hot?

mate had a vaguly similar prob, so i suggested he check the water bottle level, guess what, almost empty, quick fill to iits line, instant hot air

your A/C comes on as soon as you direct the air to the windscreen
