Last year we had our boiler replaced, and the plumber changed the system to a fully pumped pressurised system. and hance we had a motorised valve fitted, which im assuming switches between the heating circuit and the HW circuit. My question is can the both circuits be fed at the same time. ie is the switch a CH only or HW only , or can it be both......from the sticky posts im thinking i have the S-PLAN system

Great info, thanks..........i wont be messing with any plumbing, its just that i like to know how these things operate.

Read the FAQs on motorised valve.

It will show you a 2 port valve and a 3 port valve. :D

also its "LAYMAN" Not lamen or ;amen

:)

sorry I have a touch of softusitis

:)

You can also have a W-plan, which is usually wired to give priority to the HWS, so no heating until the hot water is up to the set temperature. It uses 3-port diverter valve instead of a 3-port mid-position valve.
It depends on which valve you've got and how it's wired.
