Do people fit the plastic adapters on these? Have been to one where the top connections are totally rusted out. No plastic connectors fitted

Do the plastics anti corrosion adapters they come with seal ok?

Yes ,fit the plastic parts. The threads need to be sealed with PTFE tape.

Whoever fit it in the first place didn't a hence has caused this. Any tips on getting them to seal without cross threading the plastic?

Fit them "dry" first to get a feel of how much play is there and then build up the PTFE to suit, adding more thickness as you go down the threads. May need quite a bit as both threads are parallel, not tapered.
Personally I prefer loctite thread for this.

Thanks yes I used loctite cord. Would this be ok. Or would it be easier to cross thread

You reduce the risk of cross-threading by using less at the beginning of the thread.
After that it's down to eye and feel!

Do they come with rubber washers? Have just looked on city plumbing site they seem to sell the anti corrosion adapters separately

I believe the plastic adapters have a metal thread internally that screws on to the unit. So these should be ok. I can use loctite cord and not really worry about cross threading. Is the top of these that are a male thread in plastic. And I need to connect to 2 x 1/2 female to 15mm compressions
