Hello all.

A newbie, question coming, but please bare with me, I have searched.

We've take over a house which has cracked concrete floors in some GF rooms, and terracotta tiles (on top of earth) in others.
All of which we intend to dig up and re-concrete.

Does anyone know of a good web resource for the necessary knowledge:
Depth to dig, layers, screed, membrane, insulation etc, etc.

Any help is appreciated. I'm sure I'll become a regular with more questions pending! ;)

cute name ...hmm

your best plan of attack is ask for your local buliding control officer for a site visit , he will give you leaflets an the regs on what you are allowed to do

its ok us to say dig down 2' an then fill with hardcore/compacted ....an then .....
but every area is totally different ...see your BCO

Thanks for your input Moz.

But, skipping the official line for now, can anyone else help?
Is there a helpful book, in absence of a good web resource?

Thanks again.
